I am having a horrible time trying to figure out how to import a 24 page word
document into a booklet format. I have been trying for two days to no avail.
Please help me, this really shouldn't be this difficult!

There may be better ways but the way I would attempt this feat is;

Make as many pages as needed in Publisher linking them together. That is if
you filled the first page it would automatically flow into the next page.

Now make page one of Publisher very large, 3 or 4 feet by 3 or 4 feet.

Now Copy and paste from Word to page one of Publisher. When the entire Word
document is on page one of Publisher, resize it to the size wanted and the
contents will flow on to the succeeding pages.

Ugly, but it will work.

On your booklet's first page arrange the margins, create a text box to fit
within your margin, with the text box selected, right-click, click change text,
text file, browse to your Word file. Publisher will automatically create text
boxes and pages.
