    - Changing URL in link I have been given an URL so that I can provide a link from my site (designed with Publisher 97). Up to now, I have never had a problem with a link, but for some reason or other, when I paste this link, the ending of which is tformdisplay?xr4=&formts=2006-04-18%2019 and then preview my site, the link displays instead as tformdisplay?xr4=&formts=2006-04-18%252019 I go back to the hyperlink combo box, and the link is pasted correctly, but when I preview it, it again reads incorrectly - inserting the extra "52" into the string.     - forwarding email publications Does anyone know how to create an email publication with graphics, that when sent from another computer as a forwarded message, keeps its original graphic display? I'm not having trouble creating initial email publications and sending the publication as a JPEG file, but the trouble happens when one of my initial contact tries to send my original email as a forwarded message.     - 11x17 printing problems Using an Epson 1280: I reinstalled latest driver, reinstalled Pub2003, set preferences in driver to 11x17, but when printing starts, Pub changes the size to 8.5x11. EVERYTHING is set to 11x17, but I can see when printing starts the status monitor says 8.5x11, and the document is shrunk down to 8.5x11. I know this is not an Epson problem because I can convert the PUB file to PDF and it prints just fine at 11x17.     - How can I use Word to layout images like Publisher? need captions I am laying out images for an appendix to a dissertation. For the black and white figures, I am using Word, because I want to automate the captions (Fig. 1 etc.). For colour plates, I am using Publisher (which I love) and this works well, because conventionally they are referred to by plate number and then a sub-letter (pl. 1a). I can easily automate the plate numbers, because they are the page numbers of the PUblisher doc. For figures, the images are usually referred to as individual figures rather than as a page and then sub-letter (Fig. 1 as opposed to Fig. 1a). Thus, this is why I have decided to use Word, where I can have captions automate this labelling of the figures. Frustratingly, however, I find that when I insert images they jump about, and quite often ruin the layout that had already been established before I inserted an extra photo or drawing. This can mess up the captions too. Is there any way of using Word in a manner more like Publisher? I.e. so that images can be inserted onto black pages and 'stick' where you put them? But when I fit the logo where I want it, the box the logo is in covers the info and reformats the text from that text box and does not show properly. The link is for convenience when printing I dont have to print three different documents and organize them myself. The issue is that each of linked documents is more than one page.     - Publisher - Access data link issue I am not sure if this post belongs in this newsgroup or in Access. I have not recieved an anser in the Access group so I will try it here. I have a document designed in Publisher 2003 that I want to do a merge with a query in Access 2003. When I choose the Access front end on the local computer to link to and test the connection I get a "Microsoft Data Link Error" window that states "Test onection failed because of an error initializing provider. Cannot start you application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user." The Access front end opens fine and the workgroup is joined properly. I have tried adding the /wkgrp switch to the command line. The publisher document will link fine with a separate dbf file. We have Word documents that merge fine with this same Access Front end.     - Publisher 2003 loading Publisher 2000 files Hello, I surely hope I am missing something or there is something that can be done to alleviate the numerous issues I have with my upgrade to Publisher 2003. We have been using Publisher since Publisher 98....and have been using it almost exclusively for design work. I was in the process of updating our machines and as such had to update our OS and other software accordingly. The problem is, Publisher 2003 seems to have absolutely no conherence when it comes to reproducing the work originally created in Publisher 2000. Just about every peice of formatting is in some way or form changes or downright broken from the way we had it setup. We have thousands of Publisher files in previous formats, and it is extremely unlikely that recreating them would be possible. Publisher 2003 even crashes loading some files that Publisher 2000 has no problem with. Currently we have reinstalled Publisher 2000 alongside 2003, but it even has an issue running on WindowsXP and will often crash stating low memory resources and ask to save the open file to a '.tmp' file. (I found sites mentioning this and modified temp sizes accordingly but it can still give this error at times) Is there some way to alleviate the problems we are having? I understand a lot of the changes made with regard to consistency to other office products, but is there no way of reliably using the recent version to edit our files? Thanks in advance.     - Problems printing a (semi-) transparent square over a photo I'm working in publisher, and trying to get a nice background for each page. I have a photo covering the entire page, and then a rectangle filled in with a color, but about 50% opaque so that the photo shows through and then text over that. It looks absolutely fantastic, BUT it won't print out that way OR convert to PDF that way. Instead, the photo does not show through at all and so the background is only the plain color. I've tried changing the opacity levels, I've tried different colors, I've even tried different printers (color, black and white, pdf, etc) and made sure the the quality and dpi are at the highest levels. Welp, there may not be any listed here specifically for Publisher, but it
may give you some ideas or some of the Word examples may be converted
manually to Pub. At least they are free! Besides, maybe Word is better
suited to a proposal anyway - I do all my proposals in Word and Excel...just
create a .dot file in Word.
