    - Merging PDFs with Pub document I am working on a newsletter right now. Most of the articles that get sent to me were typed in Word and I copy and paste them into Publisher. Then, I use PrimoPDF to convert the entire Pub document into a PDF document, and I email it to the printer. But, I have 2 pages that are PDFs, and I can't figure out how to get them in the right position within the entire 8 page document. Let's say pages 2 and 7 are PDFs. I have been busy but my big news is, I have replaced my old old Windows-ME with a blazing fast new Vista computer. It's been the devil working with the ribbon in Office, frankly.     - Publisher 2003 is missing page numbers when I convert to pdf I have a publisher 2003 documents of 124 pages with several master pages. I can see and print page numbers centered at the bottom of the page using publisher, but when I convert to a pdf using Acrobat Pro 7.1.0 the page numbers don't convert.     - Mail Merge I am using Publisher 2003. One of the fields of data I am using in a mail merge exceeds 255 characters and I have, therefore, broken this field into three individual merge fields and put them into one text box. However, even though I have put the fields directly next to each other (as below), Publisher automatically inputs a return after each field, so when you look at the merged document a paragraph return shows mid-sentance. Â«sDescription1Â»Â«sDescription2Â»Â«sDescription3Â» Is there a way to turn this auto return off so the info 'appears' as though it is all in one merge field?     - Transforming A4 Portrait to 3 tear off strips on A4 Landscape with MS Publisher 2007 Hi everyone. I have created a portrait A4 Flyer with a border in which I have inserted a repeating picture all the way round between the border and edge of the page. I now want to copy this page and downsize it as three equal columns on A4 landscape. The idea is to have the A4 portrait on a notice board and the 3 three equal strips are to be cut or guillotined to drop off in letter boxes. What is the easiest way of going about this please?     - Newsletter Email not sending in Publisher 2007 I create newsletters for my business and send them out to customers. Currently, I use Publisher 2007. Until about a month ago, I never have had an issue with them being sent via email. This past week, I created two new newsletters and sent them out using Outlook 2007. The email appears to send without any problem. The problem is that although Outlook says it was sent, but the message was never delivered. I've tried this with all three email addresses on my computer, and cannot get delivery receipt, or even receive them myself. I've got two different types of email accounts on my PC, one which is directly thru my ISP, the other thru the company website host. I can sometimes get the message to be delivered if I send if from my ISP email account to the website host email, but not the other way around. I receive no errors or warnings or anything, so this problem has been rather stressful to troubleshoot. When I send an email from any of the accounts WITHOUT the Publisher file, the email comes through without an issue. (Even when I select "Send as attachment" in publisher) So, the problem only appears when I choose the "Send as a message" option within Publisher. This also makes the tech support folks at my ISP and webhost think I'm insane..... HELP! Tag: Transparent text boxes Tag: 179201

    - some pages won't print I'm using Published 2007 and printing to a Canon MF4150. I am having problems printing some, but not all, pages in a document. I'm not much of a techie, but I'll try to explain what happens. It looks like it is going through, as the processing light on the printer lights up, but then it just beeps to signal an error and never comes through.     - Novice Publisher User needs help with Printing question. I have created an Annual Report document that is 12 pages long. I'm using 11x17 paper printing two pages per side, double sided printing. While working on the document I have printed it several times to check layouts....no problem. I'm having a problem using the wizard in Publisher 2000 "Publisher cannot complete the operation" I have Windows XP Home SP3 MS Office 2000 Professional 512MB RAM 35GB Free space on HDD This has only started after Windows Service pack 3 was installed. It was ok with Windows XP SP1 and Windows XP SP2 I even check for Ms Office 2000 updates once a month, just installed the latest updates yesterday in the hope that it might fix the problem. It didn't. Once I open Publisher and then use the wizard to select any of the cards, Busines or greeting or letter templates to name a few. I get the following error mesage "Publisher cannot complete the operation". This is happening in all my accounts including Administrator, yet I've never had this problem before in any of the accounts ltd or admin.     - shrinking publication Hi, I have generated a 2 page A5 publication and am trying to print it. I have adjusted the magins, and it looks perfect on screen, but when I print (2 pages to an A4 sheet) it shrinks each page so that the margins are bout an inch wide.     - PDF Add-in colors changed to black using Publisher 2007 I have Publisher 2007 which shows it to be Beta2 though it came pre-installed on a recently purchased PC. Help shows that it is SP1 MSO (12.0.6213.1000) I installed theMicrosoft Office PDF/XML add-in which works well apart from where text is coloured. Where is is the case, it is converted to black in the resulting PDF. I have tried High Quality and OCmmercial printing setting and checked advanced options but can't see any setting which may be causing this. Design Checker flags the coloured text as being RGB so I converted it to CMYK but is still gets changed to Black when Publish to PDF (or Save as PDF) are used. (I tried to Apply to the Beta feedback site to report this bughttps://connect.microsoft.com/feedback/default.aspx?SiteID=227 but whilst there were Apply buttons for other software these now seme to have been removed for this product even though there are still recent feedback posts being recorded.) PS: Adobe Acrobat Standard is also installed and preserves the colour of the text but I would prefer to use the PDF add-in becuase it seems more relliable when rendering non-standard fonts.     - xp/vista incompatability? I created several pub files using office 2007. I pasted in multiple Word docs created with two computers, one using XP, the other using Vista. The files using docs from both computers will not open ("publisher cannot open this file" error). I ran a test with 6 Word docs created on XP pasted into a publisher file, opened closed it with Vista computer, no problem. Pasted 1 Word doc created on Vista into the same file then closed and tried to reopen document but got the aformentioned error message. I tried the registry fixes Mary Sauer suggested but no results.     - Exporting Colour Schemes Hi, I need a way of forcing many people throughout my organisation to use a standard set of colour schemes. We are working with a commercial printers, and I need to make sure that everyone is using CMYK colour space within Publisher. My plan is to set up a range of accpetable colour schemes, then remove all the default colour schemes to force people to use the correct ones. There doesn't seem to be any way of exporting schemes within publisher, so I was hoping I'd be able to find a file somewhere which stored the schemes I could copy onto all my users PC's. I have text boxes which have a fill color yet transparent center and then an
image behind the text box. On the screen it shows up perfectly, yet when I
print it the image is blocked. Any ideas?

Publisher has issues with transparency. Create a rectangle the size of your text
box, apply your transparency, right-click, save as picture, select the .png
format, re-insert the saved image into your publication.
