    - Cannot connect to data source file I have moved Publisher 2002 files from a computer running Windows XP to a Publisher 2003 files on a computer running Windows XP Pro. These files are using a mail merge list. When I try to open a file, I get a Publisher Can't Connect window saying that the file might have been moved, deleted, or renamed. The file listed is where the mail merge file is on the old computer. I am given a choice to Reconnect to the data source or Work without the merged info.     - Publisher 2000's colour schemes are all black! My client is using Microsoft Publisher 2000. All of the colours are black. From the Format->Color Scheme... menu item, all of the listed achemes are black. On the "Custom" tab, all of the colours are black. If I select a colour and try to customize it, all of the basic colours are black. If I want to see all colours, I can see a very colourful grid but the preview is always black. I can manually set the RGB values, but they always appear as black. All available Office Updates have been applied. Repairing does not solve the problem, nor does the repair/reinstall feature.     - publisher 95 document won't open with 98 Hi, I have some documents that took a great deal of time to make which are suddenly necessary to access again. I have since upgraded to XP, and have Publisher 98 on my machine. I get "...is not a valid win32 application" if I click on the document in windows explorer. When I open 98 and try to open the documents, I get "Publisher cannot open earlier "publisher cannot open files from a different version". I tried to change the "open with" setting to publisher 98, and it still doesn't work. I also can't seem to find my old publisher 95 disc.     - no thumbails when inserting pictures I have a document with a lot of pictures and every time I go to insert a new picture, it displays the contents in the folder I'm pulling from as thumbnails. This is very, very annoying. I have a lot of images and thumbnails not only take extra time to load, but they take up probably 5 or 8 times more room than just a listing. I set it to display as a list, and when I go back in to insert another picture, it returns to displaying thumbnails.     - Previewing Clip Art Problem I have Publisher 2002 XP and my I cannot preview clip art. It just shows the files with a note pad looking icon with a small globe in the lower left corner of each file preview. If I double click on one of the files it inserts it into the publication.     - Clip Art colors print incorrectly I am trying to create a certificate using Publisher 2002. I am printing on a hp psc 2110 all-in-one. The pre- designed document prints fine, however when I add a clipart design to it, the colors in the clipart print in incorrect colors. Yellow and red come out blue, blue comes out red. This only applies to the clipart graphics while the rest of the document comes out correctly. This only happens in Publisher, if I copy the same art to a word document it prints correctly. By the way, if I send it to our network color printer, it prints fine, so somewhere between publisher and my printer it gets messed up.     - I want to uninstall Office 97 but the setup.exe will not launch I want to uninstall Office 97 but the setup.exe will not launch. My OS is Windows 98 SE. When I put the Office 97 CD in the drive, it will not launch. I tried running it manually by going to Run>drive:/setup but then my PC hangs and I have to crash it. I have checked the CD and it works fine on my other PC and I have also made sure it is not the DVD drive. Anyhelp on this one?     - Save as web problems with Pub 2000 I am running Publisher 2000 (from Office 2000) on Windows 2000 professional with a 933Mhz / 128 Mb Ram / Pent III Compaq Presario and I have tried to do a “save as web page” and I have the following error come up and the program shuts down. The error is MSPUB.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created. To try and fix the problem I ran the repair facility on the CD and also reinstalled the program twice, and that did not fix the problem. I used to have Windows ME and the same Office 200 program set and I successfully created web sites no problems with Publisher. Any body have any idea of how I can fix this problem so I can once again save as a web page my publisher documents?     - Any way, with 2003, to download larger clipart library rather than a few at a time? With Office 97, I was able to download a very large clipart folder (900+mb) when installing the program, and it was very nice not having to insert the disc or deal with the internet. Is it possible to do this with Office 2003? I suppose they don't have that type of data base on the disks (I couldn't find it anyway), since they are relying more on the web interface, but I can't find out where, on the web site, to download a large "general" library.     - Clipart question I upgraded to Pub2002 from Pub98. I work from home and my employer upgraded my Office 97 to Office 2000. Well, now when I try to get to my clipart from the Clip Gallery Frame plug-in, it wants the Office 2000 disk, which I don't have (my employer keeps all disks). Is there somewhere in Pub2002 that I can change the path from the Office 2000 disk to my Pub2002 disk? When I try to do the "Change Location" option, it looks for that specific clip art file and my disk has 6 or 7 folders of clip art.     - How to get newsletter on the web We currently publish a newsletter that is 16 ~ 20 pages. Our January newsletter was 16 pages and the pub file (pub 2002) is 25mb. I can save it as a PDF file and it shrinks it to 7.5mb. If I save all the pages as jpegs, reduce them to 75dpi and then save as a PDF, then we're down to 3.5mb. Is this my best option? I'd like to be able to get the file size even smaller. I am saving the pages as 8.5 x 11 pages. Should I make them smaller than that? We're just getting started with a website and would like to put up our newsletters, but I'd like to get them small enough so that folks on dialup don't have to wait forever and a day to load the newsletter. No matter how large I make the sheet size, it prints on 2 sheets, cropping the bottom 2 " or so of the first sheet, and printing the rest on another giant sheet. I can't help but am would like an answer because I'm
having the same problem with 2003 to 2000. I read
numerous other discussion responses saying it was likely
NAV interference. I turned off both the office plug-in
and scripting in NAV2004 as recommended but I get the same
error.

Frank, are you using Norton products? And are you using different OS's?
