    - Slow import of pictures When I import pictures while connected to my office network, it is really slow. When I go to my head office which is a few hundred miles away (and where all of the main servers are located), the import is almost instant. Likewise when I disconnect from any network, the import is instant. Why should it make a difference where i am located, especially as all i am doing is importing a picture from my desktop in each instance?     - Another curvy question.... I've now discovered that I can get some cort of curvy linear arrows by using the Autoshape connectors, and this wouldn't be a problem apart from the fact that the curved connecting arrows default to an 'S' shaped curve, whereas I only want a simple arc. By manipulating the yellow adjustment handle I still don't seem to be able to get a proper arc shape - it just moves the unwanted bend in the curve. Any suggestions?     - Curved arrrows? Hello, I'm creating a type of flow diagram in Publisher and would like to link TWO text boxes with a curved linear arrow (as opposed to a curved block arrow). I would then like to write text alongside the curved arrow, although I'm not sure whether this second part will be possible. Is there a way I can do any of this?     - Problem Printing page margin borders with Publisher 2003? I use Pub 2003, (1) 11x17 page for a 2 page layout newsletter. I have 2 computer for this, one for back-up. When I print from computer one it prints fine, if I use computer 2 it prints the margin borders around the very edge of the page. How do I get to not print that border?     - Paste Special drops cells from Word and Excell Our church is using Publisher 2003 to do our bulletin and newsletter. When we try and use Paste Special to paste the calendar from Word 2003, it drops the last row of cells bottom of calendar (they do not show up in Publisher). If we go back to Word 2003, new document, and paste, everything is there. The same thing happens when we try to Paste Special from Excel 2003. It drops the last column of the Excel sheet. Any suggestions on how to fix this? The calendar and Excel sheet are put together by another individual ( not the secretary) and emailed to the church office. The secretary also says that sometimes it will paste the whole clipboard. I do not have specifics on when this happens. I know the problem this time is with the August calendar which has 6 rows.     - Tool Bar default I like to have my align center, middle, left and right up in my tool bar as i use them frequently. I get rid of stuff I don't use to make the room. How do I set that as default? I think I am doing it but when I open a new document after a shutdown, it goes away.     - header problems when converting to Adobe I have produced a catalog in Publisher 2003. I created a header/footer and placed a section break between the cover page and the rest of the document. In publisher, the header/footer does not show up on my cover, only on the rest of the document. When I convert it to Adobe Acrobat (pdf), the header shows up on the cover page.     - Email bugs when using Publisher to send an email I design art gallery invitations with Publisher but when I send what looks to be a perfectly sorted publisher file that has no 'Design Checker' issues, the resulting email has little problems. These could be fragmented outline borders applied to an image or random spaces between images and text - but none of these exist on the publisher document itself!     - How to set up/print a newsletter with some color pages, some b/w p I print an 8 page newsletter through Publisher that is printed into a booklet - 2 sheets of 11X17 paper printed on both sides stapled in center and folded into an 8 1/2X11 booklet for mailing.     - Page Numbering Hi, I'm working on my first newsletter using Publisher 2003. It is going well, but I have a confusing problem with page numbering. The newsletter is four pages long. I took the original page numbers off, and made new text boxes for the title and page #. Page 1 is fine (and not numbered) Page 4 is fine. But page 2 and 3 keep changing back and forth.     - Insert or LINK to images Can anyone advise me - I am creating a range of documents which will only ever be printed from or viewed on the PC which creates them. The only exception to this is that I will occasionally e creating .pdf files from them which will be emailed to other people. In an effort to keep file sizes down I am using the LINK function instead of INSERT image. I sthis likely to cause any problems? My understanding is that if I wish another user (with Publisher) to open a file I have created then the pictures MUST be INSERTED, however I assume that the .pdf file overcomes this problem.     - Optimum number of pages I am doing a book that should be about 200 pages (each page is half an 8x11). I now have 116 and when I try to add pages (on the INSERT menu) It says ok and then cuts me down to 16! I can't find anything that tells me how many pages one file can handle in Publisher 2003.     - disengage mail merge Since the completed merge is too large to email, I have mail merge documents emailed to me along with the data sources in excel. These spreadsheets are being kept in xls form and used throughout the organization for consistancy so I'd prefer not to change applications. Since I am changing the source of the data ( from their computer to mine) I have to re-designate that source in the mail merge. My problem is that those choices are grayed out to me. My only options are Create or Edit Address List and these do not allow choices of xls files. I cannot find any place to disengage the mail merge once it is initiated. "cancel" is grayed out. Using Publisher 2007.

I am attempting to create a 4-page booklet with the following settings:
Width= 5.5 Height 8.5 Landscape Booklet

In Print Preview the publication appears in Landscape orientation, which I
want, but when not in Print Preview the publication appears in portrait
orientation. I have an exisiting publication based on the same settings and
it displays properly (landscape) at all times. Any ideas?

The booklet setup is landscape by default if you are using letter stock. Look at
your ruler on page one, does it say 5.5 width? When you view pages 2-3 does the
ruler say 11 inches? Are you viewing a two page spread? (View, Two Page
Spread).
