I have Publisher 2003 and use it a lot but now when I try to insert a picture
from "My Pictures" it is blurred and you can hardly see it. However, when it
prints, it is OK. This also happens if I scan a picture into Publisher.
Clipart is not affected.

View, pictures, detailed display...
If that doesn't solve the issue...
Slide the acceleration down on your adapter, control panel, display folder, settings
tab, advanced button, troubleshoot tab...
If this helps go to the manufacturer's web site of your adapter and look around for
an upgraded video driver.

Originally yes but I had a new computer a year ago and I had to re-install my
CD's. Perhaps I didn't activate it but it has been working properly up until
last week. I will re-install it and activate it and see if that works.

I'd try a detect and repair first.
