    - Publisher 2007 different formatting I am having trouble with formatting changes between an old version of Publisher that I have at work and 2007 at home. I emailed myself a document from work to home and the page formatting is totally differnet. It went from a four on a page post card to one in the middle.     - How do I open my free trial of MS Publisher download? I've just downloaded a 60 day free trial of Microsoft Office Publisher 2007, which was apparently successful. But each time I go to open it a message pops up saying that another application has to be launched...but when I click on "lauch application" it doesn't do anything. Also, in the email they sent me after successfully registering and downloading, it tells me 'how to get started'....open up trial download, enter in the product key where indicated and get started......but I haven't quite figured out where to do that.     - Creating "signature" groups in book to be hand-bound Just got Office Suites. Already fit to be tied. I have prepared a booklength document in (the new) Word and thoroughly formatted it--margins, linespace, various fonts, page size. It is to end up printed (by me, on my Lexmark) on single-folded 8.5 x 11 sheets. Each page, then, will be 8.5 by 5.5. Naturally, there will be a margin around the text, and running headers. Total pages thus formatted, about 240. To print books of any length, the pages must be grouped into what are called "signatures"--basically mini-booklets with two pages on each side of the sheet. But the pages on a given sheet, and fromt sheet to sheet, are not consecutive, because they are to be folded in a "nested" form--the first side of the first sheet may be pages 1 and 20, etc. This is all standard stuff. When I copy my Word document into Publisher (20 pages worth, let's say), I use a booklet-type template which I've carefully created. The problem is that much of my original formatting is being overridden somehow. Some fonts come through; other font changes are ignored. My indents are replaced by no-indent. My font size changes from 12 pt to 10 pt. Paragraph formatting is altered. Strangest thing: whereas the empty text box I've created (with the "use for each new page" directive checked) has the precise dimensions needed, the importing creates new text boxes right on top of it that are fully 11 inches long and too wide! Nor does there seem to be a straightforward way to "tell" Publisher to simply make the content of each text box replicate the content of the corresponding page on my Word print-layout screen, and then move on to a new text box on a new page. (Evidently print layout "pages" are just set up for display; they aren't real pages that can be exported over to Publisher. And there's no command that allows you to "select the displayed single page you are now looking at" either.) I'm amazed that Office has no straightforward way to handle this. This is basic desktop publishing. Having worked at this for several days now, purchased a book, gone to some of the helper sites mentioned on this group, and even patronized Office's own "help" file (which is generally useless)--I obviously need advice.     - Can't "see" transparent background. Created an image in PS Elements 4.0. Saved for web, kept transparency, and saved as GIF. Transferred into Publisher '07 and the "white box" background shows.     - Installing 2007 over 2000 suite We are a church with very, very old software. I recently bought Publisher 2007 (standalone--and worrying that was a mistake) but am having trouble. It installed alright, but it will not open/start. We run XP and Office 2000 Sm Business and Publisher 2000 installed now. IE v. 7. I was urged to buy the Pub 2007 as the upgrade isn't supported by Vista which we will probably be going to in the near future. I know the old 2000 version is on here still, but it came as part of a suite. Is there a way to make 2007 work? Or is there a way to uninstall Pub 2000 ala carte? Everything is working ok but takes a very long time to process and print.     - Publisher 2003 Cannot Open Application After several months of successful opening of a shortcut to a Microsoft Publisher 2003 file, I can no longer open the application. I respond to prompt to open in safe mode, then respond yes to repair, then the program Publisher crashes. This has happened before, and I contacted the paid support and paid $50 or so to fix the problem. The fix was to create another Windows user record for myself because apparently my original user record had become corrected for Publisher. I don't want to create another user record this time, because that wound up giving me more headaches. Can someone please give me an insight on this annoying problem? I read that single web page can allow me to send just the first page of publisher with the links activated so that readers can click to continue to read other page. Using Publisher 2003 I created a newsletter with 3 pages, then ran Design
Checker to fix all errors. Publisher will not let me save the file. Tried
every combination possible, have plenty of disk space. Error message just
says Publisher cannot save file
