I receive responses from resource managers to my request for resources that
may go something like - "You can have Joe 50% in Jan and 75% Feb - April".
What is the best way to set this up in project so it will schedule properly
and I can use automatic leveling?

Hi,

IMHO if you want to use leveling it is best to reflect these availabilities
in the calendar (make them work so many hours and minutes per day during the
period) and always use 100% as assignment units as well as max units.
That way you never have to change units on any task and leveling does a
perfect job.
After all, whenever they are there for you, you want them to work 100% of
their brain, isn't it? :-))
