I want to show time and date information for one specific mpp file across all
the user desktops. How can I set that up? I want to create a view that
sequences the tasks by date and time.

I can perform options\view on my desktp. How can I set the project file to
show date and time information for ALL user?

Thanks
Harry

Hi Harry
Not sure what you re asking, but as I understand it, the desktop options are
set by the global mpt on each desktop.
To set their options you need to get them to copy those options using
Tools/Organiser.
Firstly though, to set date fields to show a timestamp select
Tools/Options/View and select a date format from the dropdown.
To make them standard they need to :
- open your file
- change views
- Tools /Organiser
- Copy to global.mpt
- Close

Hope that is what you were after

Regards.............Pratta

Hi Harry,

Date format is set on computer level, not on file level, sorry.
OTOH, when you sort on a date field, Project always sorts on Date/Time.
Hope this helps.

Hoi again,

I just forgot.
You can install a VBA macro in the file that fires when it opens and sets
the Date format as you like it (but then it is set for all work on that
computer!)
If you're ready to do some VBA tell me I can guide you to the process.

Hi Harry,

If it is one specific project file that you want to show date and time for
all users, regardless of what they have set for options, you will need to
modify the tables in the project to show the date/time format for what ever
views you need.
For each table: View > Table > More Tables. In the More Tables dialog box,
select each table in turn and click Edit.... In the Table Definition dialog
box set the Date Format to one showing date and time.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie
