        • Tasks not listed in PWA I have created a project in Project Professional 2003 then Imported and Published the project to the Project server.         • Order of details under Resource in Who does What Report I am a very new user of Project 2003 and am trying to edit the Who does What report. I want to sort the detail under each Resource so that each person can see a list of their tasks in Start Date order. I have tried editing the report but nothing seems to generate the list under each resource in this way. If I canâ??t do this via the report editing options, is there a way round this? I tried exporting the data to Excel but then all the Tasks and Resource names ended up in the same column so I would still have to do further editing every time I need a new report when the plan changes.         • Added Calculated Fields to the Roll-Up tasks How do I add calculated fields to calculate at the roll-up level? I want the same equation that is used on a parent's children to be performed on the parent. Is this possible? The formula is extensive and contains nest if/thens, I don't believe this will be a problem, however I am drawing a blank as to where the roll-up tasks would be flagged? I know I could use a flag, however this would become cumbersome.         • Work schedule progress question I have a question about how I should display the following data in project. I will do this in picture form as it is much easier to understand this way. For example Task 4 is scheduled from the beginning of week 6 to the end of week 10 and has 5 hrs scheduled for each week. Thus the hours are scheduled linearly over each of the tasks but not over all the tasks combined. If I have completed 30 out of the 60 hrs I want to show a summary progress bar which runs from the beginning of week 1 to almost to the end of week 4. If I have completed 53 of the 60 hrs I want the bar to run from the beginning of week 1 to the end of week 8. I have no idea how to do this. Is this % complete, % work complete, physical % complete, BCWS, BCWP? Please help. Also, this is an example case. The real data is 10,000 rows of historical data grouped into many different outline levels. Also, I know project can do lots of things like change durations, hours, and all that, but I don't want to do that. I just want to show what I indicated above for all my summary progress bars.         • Tasks that are dependent not changing start dates My setup is that I have many fairly small projects. The tasks are of short duration 1-4 hours normally. If task #1 doesn't get started (For example it was scheduled to start yesterday, I want the next task to be listed as starting tommorrow not today as was originally scheduled. I won't necessarily be opening that project or myslef even know that the task got started late, but I don't want the next person in line thinking they have a task starting today when the task above them didn't get done. I don't want it to show up in their tasks. I have current projects set to 1 day. I have set my dependencies up FS and added a day lag time.         • Gannt Chart Question Currently I'm using a split screen to view the resource sheet and a gannt chart. as I click on each specific resource, the gannt chart displays the tasks the respective resource is working on. So far so good... Now, when right clicking in the open area in the gannt chart, and then going to bar styles > text - the field under the 'right' row is displayed as resource names. Is there any way to simply show the name of the resource that I'm clicking on in the resource sheet above and his respective percentage allocation instead of *all* resources assigned to the tasks being shown?         • Schedule Progress I am trying to show schedule progress on a summary bar. For example if I have 60 hours of work to do over a ten week period, and 30 of these hours are scheduled to be done in the first four weeks, and I have completed 30 hours I want my summary progress bar to be 40% of the total summary bar rather than 50%. Consequently if 30 hours were scheduled over the first nine weeks and the remaining 30 hours were scheduled for week ten, I would want to show the progress bar as 90% of the total summary bar rather than 50. I thought I could use a summary progress bar which starts at [start] and ends at [% complete] to do this, but it doesn't look right.         • book pubishing process I tried to post this question a few mins ago but I am not sure whether I have managed or not. If this is appears to be a copy I am sorry. I would like to track my resources in the period of several books pubishing. I am entering the book's name as the task and the works to be done during the process as ubtasks and assign resources for each subtask. For ex: I have editors, graphic designers etc..         • Deleted a filter, used by a view, and now cannot open the file Hello, I recently deleted a "filter" that was used by a "view". Apparantly that must have been the default view because now when I try to open the file I get the following error message: _____________________________ The filter "V - DDI - ALL - NOHLT" cannot be found You tried to display a view or use an import/export map that references a filter that is not available. - If you are trying to use a view, specify a different filter for the view - If you are exporting with a map, the export will continue without the application of a filter. _______________________________ Then, when I click "OK" or even if I just click on the "X" in the upper right hand corner I get the send error report message. Once that message comes up the application hangs until I click either the "Send Error Report" or "Don't Send" buttons. My problem is that I can't get into the file to fix the filter/view problem.         • Multiple Resources & Resource Calendar I have three resources that must meet to discuss as situation. I assigned all three resources to the one task. However, one of the three will be absent on specific date so I updated that resource's calendar accordingly. When Project 2002 Professional determines the start/finish dates, it uses the day the one resource is absent. If remove the available resources, it does not schedule on that day.         • Level by priority Is there any way to make project level by priority first, then by task duration? "Priority, Standard" does not seem to do it- my short, high priority tasks are still being delayed by lengthy low-priority ones.         • Print preview screen is greyed out. Can only print to the default printer on preview screen can't change to another printer selection is greyed out. Everything else works fine when printing File->Print and you can select printers that way, but not from preview screen. I reinstalled project, haven't installed SR-1 for it yet but going to..         • View Specific Date Range I have a 5-year project schedule. My boss needs a way to view only a 3-month period (July 1, 2005 - September 30, 2005). I know I can print a specific date range and filter a view for start date ranges. However, I haven't been able to figure out how to view a range where I have all tasks which start during the period and may finish after the end date (of the desired view). I would need for Project to slice the gantt chart on the desired end date. Example: Task A starts on 7/15/2005 and ends 6/1/2006.         • How can I have task data adjusted to wrap in Printing? In Project 2000 it is easy to get data to wrap on screen, but can this then be printed. It seems to just print as one line and lop off what is too long for the field width. If the width is adjusted to print as one line, then the text is too long.         • PWA - Project (Group) Web Sites We are using MS Project 2003 & Project Server; Is it possible to have many projects link to a single 'Share Point Services' web address...??         • How to resolve a gap in task ID numbering I have a Project 2003 schedule that's been published to Project Server. In Project, the task IDs have a gap, like this: 1 2 3 8 9 Tasks 4 through 7 are not shown. The schedule has no filtering, sorting, or grouping applied. I've tried resorting by ID but with no luck. The missing tasks 4 through 7 are simply nowhere to be found in Project. I mentioned that this schedule has been published to Project Server. There, can see the mystery tasks 4 through 7 in the Project Center view. Back in Project, I'd like to show the missing tasks 4 through 7, delete them, and have Project correctly renumber the remaining tasks. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?         • Percent complete not rolling up to 100% - Project 2003 When I set all the subtasks to 100%, the summary task only show 99%. I can't change the summary task % to 100 - it goes back to 99%. I can't get the tasks to show complete and it is messing up my completed tasks report and driving me nuts. Everyone else on the project has Project 2003, and no one else is having the problem.         • % Complete not updating to Web Access If PM updates the % complete in the project plan, without changing the total work hours, the percent is not updated in the Tasks view for the resources on the web. We tried publishing all information, and republishing al assignments, to no avail. Under collaboration options we also tried both options for 'Publish and new changed assignments' We need to do this because we are just getting started with Project Server and Web Access, and the PMs wanted to just update the hundreds of already started and completed tasks on ongoing projects, rather than have all the resources enter all that actual time.         • Duration changes with multiple resources I have a project whose tasks total 600 hours. Of the 600 hours there are tasks and sub-tasks. If I add multiple resources (let's say 3 resources) for each task, the duration for each task shows 1/3 of the time of the total task. (i.e. a task estimated at 30 hours will show a duration of 10 hours after adding 3 resources at 100%). Project will also pull in the finish dates reflecting 10 hours of work instead of 30 (which is fine). How can I get Project to continue to reflect the actual total number of hours of effort (in this case 600) with multiple resources performing each task? My objective is to show that the project requires 600 hours of effort, but will not require 600 consecutive hours for completion. Thanks.
