I have been using Powerpoint Org chart template to create organization charts, and when my organization chart exceeds six levels down the preceeding org boxes are smaller then the ones above.     - "For:" Pull-Down List on "Change Working Time" Dialog Box I initially created a list of resources and each resource has it's own calendar. Later, after some resource churn, I deleted some resources and added some new ones. I was able to use the "sort" function to re-sort my resources by name. However, when I use the pull-down list, this list only shows the individual calendars in the order in which they were added. So now, someone with a calendar name of "Abrams.Tony" that was added later ends up being at the very bottom of the pull-down list instead of at the top (where it should be alphabetically). Hence, it is very cumbersome (over time) to try and find a resource's calendar. Is there something I dan do that I'm not aware of -- or should I be submitting a feature request?!?     - % Completed vs BCWP Hi, is there a way to make MS-Project not change the % completed of a task when I enter the Actual Work done for that task? The reason is that when I enter the Actual work done for a task, the BCWP and ACWP are always identical. As I beleive, BCWP the (budgeted cost for the task * % completed) and the ACWP should be the cost of the actual work done, right?     - Custom names for text fields in PWA Is there a way to have the custom names show up in the view for Project Server 2002? The problem is, if the client of the Extender has Windows Administrative privileges then PDS propagates/ communicates the request to my Extender and a successful reply is returned.     - Date Format web access does not follow Regional Settings The date format in Regional Settings on my computer has been changed to 07-Jan-05 so my European colleagues can view the date in a format they understand when I present training. But when dates in my project are displayed thru Project Web Access (using Project Server 2003 with SP1) they see 07-01-05 which can be confusing. The date could be interpreted as July first or January seventh. Is there any way to cause Project Server web access to adhere to the Regional Settings?     - Calendar Shift problem Hi, I have several resources who work in a shift systeem. This means that they work week 1 : early shift (for example 06:00-14:00) week 2: day shift week 3: night shift and so on. I can create 3 base calendars with the appropriate times. When I assign one of those calendars to that resource, it changes all the weeks to that calendar. What I want to do, is to to assign that calendar only for a certain week. Do I have to give the times on a day per day basis for that resource (which means a lot of work) or is there a possibility to assign that resource to a base calendar for only a limited time period.     - Changing Text styles on all projects I want to change the text style for milestones to be red italics. I can change it in an individual project, but I want this to be my default. I tried copying the Entry Table from the project where I changed the text style to Global.mpt, then copying it from Global.mpt to another project. Didn't work.     - entering actual duration question I have a Fixed Duration task of 12 hours - a meeting of three four sessions to determine test cases - which has completed. The timeframe for 12 hours to occur could be accomplished in 2 days but because of other things on each person's schedule (i.e vacation, other commitments, etc.) it took 2 weeks to perform the 12 hour task Since all planned attendees attended, I enter 12 hours at the task level and let Microsoft divide up the work hours. I also physically entered both the start date (of our first meeting of 11/8/2004) and the end date (of our last meeting of 11/23/2004). Once I entered the above start and finish dates of the meetings, MS Project lengthened my actual duration to a much longer duration than 12 hours. Why?     - Master Plan grouping by Outline Code does not work Using Project Server 2003, we need to create master plans to include task-level data within portfolio reports. We have a custom MS Project 2003 Grouping that has an Enterprise Project Outline Code as one of its grouping values. This Outline Code has 3 levels within its structure and we only want to group by the 3rd level. MS Project allows this, however the grouping seems to be duplicated in the view. All of the projects with the same outline code value do not group together. This works fine if the view is for only one project.     - Administrative projects of Project server Hello! We have a lot of problems with "administrative projects" - non-project items for which we need to report time (vacation days, sick time, etc). The problem is that these administrative projects still seem to behave like normal projects. For example, MS Project still tries to calculate an end date, a task duration, the amount of remaining work, etc, for things like sick time or vacation.     - Project 2002 will run install when opened Everytime a user opens MS proj 2002 it runs the install. It used to work fine before. I uninstalled it as an admin and re-installed at users login (a network install, with user users given rights in a group to install), but problem comes back. We are using Office XP sp3 and Win XP sp2. It gives a message saying Project was not closed properly and will open in safe mode. Choosing yes or no gives same action, that is re-installing the software and at the end will give an error msg that the system is out of memory, and terminates the install. The system has 1GB RAM.     - Autofilter - Missing data in drop box I have a large file with multipule names in over 1800 rows, as well as other information in the columns, such as ref numbers. The problem is when I use Autofilter, some of the names in one column doesn't show in the drop down box. As an example, let say you have the letter A in A1, B in A2 and C in A3 with the heading of "Letters". When you use autofilter, you should see A, B, C in the drop box. However, in my case, I'm only seeing A and C, I'm not able to find B in the drop down box list. I'm seeing this same problem in my spreadsheet, however, it's on a much larger scale. What is more frustrating, is when I use the autofilter drop box I can see (for example) letter X in row 1200 but letter Y in row 1201 isn't avaliable. There isn't any gaps inbetween the data, and I can't see any reason why a field in a column wouldn't show up when the one right above it is showing up! Hi

prior to entering the actual information, baseline your project (tools /
tracking / save baseline), this will give you the ability to compare actual
to planned. You can also use the tracking gantt view to see both the
baseline & actual (current) on the same gantt chart.
