    - Is Olap cube update when a project is open? I have this doubt, Is the Olap Cube update doesn't consider the projects when they're open? I will tell you the whole history: A PM does not see the resources assignment changes for the team on the Portfolio Analyzer. She assured me she made the changes before the Olap Cube was updated. Off course I didn't believe her and after looking into the change using Project Proffesional, I asked her to published and I update the OLAP Cube again. When I check the Portfolio Analyzer, the update was not performed for her project. Then I realize that she still have her project open. She closed it and I update the Olap Cube again, now it works.     - Preventing spread allocations When I have multiple tasks occurring on the same day I've noticed that project tends to stretch both of them out over the entire length of the day rather than filling out the first contiguous time slots. This can make it very hard when trying to manually adjust daily assignments without leveling since each time slot that has a value allocated to it needs to be edited. Is there a way to change this behavior so that assignments will preferentially fill up the first available time slots? e.g. - If I had two tasks for 4 hours each on the same day I'd like Project to schedule one for 8-12 and once for 1-5 rather than have both scheduled at .25hrs per 15 minutes throughout the whole day.     - HOWTO have tasks without wbs code Hi all, I have a schedule where in the top lines I keep the contract award and program milestones with deadlines dates. These tasks are linked (with SS relationships) to the corresponding review activity in the network schedule. When I switch to the resourse useage sheet view and attempt to insert the Text 1 column, no data appears in the column.     - Word document opens as "reading layout" and comes up as read only Hi, I have 2 problems I am hoping to get resolved: 1. I am trying to fighure out how to change the default layout of word documents that open with the project server 2003 document library for any project. I have gone to the "Customize Shared Documents", and attempted to edit the template. It saves like the system took it, but when I open another document, it shows up with the reading layout again. 2.     - Overallocation on 8 hour days I've been having a problem where certain resource appear to be overallocated on days for which they are scheduled for the full amount of their working hours.     - Updating Status/Splitting Tasks Once I update the status of my project I need to upload it to Deltek Cobra (EVM reporting tool) to get the Earned Value metrics. Cobra requires that all tasks that are scheduled around the status date be completed before the status date - so they either have to be 100% complete or the task has to be split so that one part ends before the status date and the remaining part starts after the status date.     - Back Space and deleting not working properly in word When I highlight some text and hit the backspace key in Microsoft Office Word 2003 rather then deleting the selected text the courser just moves to the space immediately before the selected test and the text becomes unselected.     - Changing resource calendar with a 24 hour project calendar We have a project that is set up with a 24 hour calendar and resources that are allocated either to a 24 hour or a 12 hour calendar. I then calculate the duration1 field based on info in two other fields, (units per day / # of days) and calculate Finish1. My Gantt bars are set up to display these fields and it works fine. I get a selection box that says I have choices to make, remove the must start on constraint or cancle the operation etc. If I select help the help button the box that pops up is for a constarined finsih date.     - Custom Toolbars, Global.mpt and the Global Enterprise Template Problem: Custom Toolbar reappears after deleting using organizer. Background: We have two Project Server environments, Test and Production. I developed a macro for a custom toolbar and made it part of global.mpt, my local global template. When ready to test and deploy in the Test environment, I copied it to the TEST Global Enterprise Template (GET) using the organizer as described here and elsewhere. I later deleted the custom toolbar and macros from the TEST GET, but it reappeared when I re-opened Project Pro. I deleted the custom toolbar again using the organizer, but it would reappear in the next session. I opened Project Pro in local mode (offline), deleted the toolbar again and it was gone for all subsequent sessions. Good! It was gone from TEST environment, too! However â?? argghhh! -- it reappeared when connecting to the PROD Project Server environment. It was never copied into the PROD GET. It does not appear in either TEST GET nor PROD GET organizer, nor in the global.mpt when in local mode. Is there a cache copy to delete somewhere? Does Project Pro combine the global.mpt and the GET into a cache that is subsequently loaded into Project Pro? BTW, a co-worker can not permanently delete the custom toolbar at all except when in local mode. The printer is telling me the project is not fitting to the size paper of the
plotter. The screen says it is only fitting to 10% of the paper size, how do
they fix this? The plotter is an HP 5500.

Hi,

Have you set the paper size in page setup?

Does the printer print to the size of paper set under page setup?

Under page setup, is the scaling 100% or is it set to either a different
value, or set to a number of pages wide by number of pages tall?

Try changing these settings.

Also check under the 'View' tab to make sure that you are only printing the
number of columns you want on all pages, and not printing blank pages unless
you really do want to print blank pages.
