I am using outlining to identify all my tasks.

When I link a task to a task in another project, that linked task
(predecessor) is displayed and an outline number is assigned. This
effectivelygive the predecessor task two outline numbers: one in the current
project and another in the original project). I have selected " do not
display linked task" but the outline numbers remain interupted.

Can outlining be disabled for linked tasks from another project?

Sally.

Hi Sally,

Sorry, as far as I know, no. The only alternative I can think of would be
to use a spare number or text field to type the codes you wish to use to
identify the tasks - perhaps some identifier about which project they come
from and then a code.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
