    - BCWS not calculated correctly for copied baselines in Microsoft Project Standard 2003 version, I am having a problem with the BCWS being calculated correctly for a baseline in which I copied from the original baseline. I wrote a macro to copy the baseline and the macro copies all the time-phased baseline data as well as the baseline start, baseline finish, etc. Anyway, when I set the status date to a date well past the baseline finish, I would expect the BCWS to match the BAC for that task, but it doesn't. When I look at the time-phased baseline cost, the expected values are listed for each day from baseline start to baseline finish. I then look at the time-phased data for the BCWS, it is not summed up correctly for each day (generally the second day is not summed correctly). If I click on that day and then arrow to the right, the cell mysteriously calculates correctly. Even more strange is the fact that when I use the arrow keys and move to the last day for that task and then arrow back to that day, the cell has reset to the incorrect value. It is my understanding that the BCWS is calculated by summing the time-phased baseline cost data thru the status date. I know my time-phased baseline cost data is correct (I even dumped it to excel and summed it up) so why won't my BCWS calculate correctly?? Any thoughts?     - Resource availability in PWA We have a global resource pool with approx. 1000 resources. All internal resources are added to the resource pool in the same way by integration to another LOB application. No resources have limitations in available from available to. Some resources have Units limited, but most of these show correct availability When checking the global resource pool all resources show correct availability. But when using PWA and checking resource availability in the "Analyze Resources in Portfolio Analyzer", some resources show wrong availability. E.g. The resource Ole Brok Petersen shows wrong availability, (34,5 hours in 2005 where as several others show 1756, which is correct) despite that his availability is unlimited. Checking PWA is shows that Ole only has 34,4 hours availability and only in 2005 - but that is not correct. Ant the same goes for several other resources. We have checked several tables in the SQL server and it seems that the table MSP_Ressource for some reason has a problem with the RES_ID. This example shows that the same RES_ID is allocated to two different resources We have crosschecked with several other tables and there seem to be something wrong, only I cant figure it out.     - Project Server / Outlook Add-In: Error 9529 Hi folks, I am pretty new in Project Server and SQL, so that I cannot solve the following problem on my own: A team member gets an assignment from his project manager and can import it into the Outlook calendar without any problems. When the team member then updates the task via Outlook, he gets the error 9529 (unknown error) and the update is not sent to project manager for approvement. Updating via Project Web Access (without Outlook) works without any problems and project manager gets the notification for approvement. SQL and Project Server are one the same maschine, Exchange Server on another. After reading some other posts I suppose, it is a problem with the date formate in the component PDS which can be solved by changing some stored procedures. Unfortunately, I am not really in this stuff, so I have no idea how to change a stored procedure nor what procedures I have to change. I would be very, very glad to get some help!     - Updating start dates to reflect actual Hello, I use Microsoft Project Prof 2002 I have recently learned how to update a task with the actual start and finish date of a project. I can't seem to get it to work though. For Example. I have a task, Task #1 that finished 1 week ahead of schedule. I go in and update the actual finish date which by default sets it as 100% complete. Task #2 is linked to directly follow Task #1 with no lag. The relationship worked properly before I changed the actual finish. Now, I want task #2 to start one week early based on the other task finishing early. When I enter the actual finish, it updates the start date for Task #2, but not correctly- it is not following task #1 directly, somewhere I gained a week. Task #2 specifically is linked to one other task following but is not linked to any other directly.     - Custom Toolbar/Formatting Macros w/ multiple users Hi, I've created a custom toolbar that has 3 macros that format fonts 3 different colors. I've placed the custom toolbar into the project file through organizer (as well as in global.mpt). I've copied the 3 modules to the file as well as leaving them in global.mpt. My problem is that even though I've done that when someone else opens it they have no custom toolbar and when they try to run the macros they get an error "The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros." If I go to their desk and copy the macro from the file to global the macros work... but at no point is the custom toolbar available. If I didn't have 20 people in multiple locations I could just run around and create the toolbar for them but seems to me there should be a way to attach these to the file not just my PC. Thoughts?     - How do a schedule work according to a resource's assignment unit? I have a resource with an assignment unit of 15% and task duration of 4 days. The problem is that Project is not scheduling the work according to the resource's assigment units. It shows the finish date 4 days after the start date, even though the resource is only dedicated to the project 15%. What am I doing wrong?     - Task duration longer than sum of sub-tasks I have a task, let's call it Development, which has three subtasks, we'll call those Requirements, Coding, Debugging. The three subtasks start on the same day, with no predecessors, and last the same amount of time: 160 hours each. I would expect to see the total for Development, then, as 160 hours. Instead, it is 168 hours. If I change the duration of the three subtasks to 154, the duration for Development becomes 162. Thus, the value for the parent task Development is always 8 hours more than the subtasks. Anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? Try using the Unique ID field. It functions as you need.
