What is a "job"? I know of no definition of job in MS Project.

Jessica,
If you mean resource assignments per task, the specification for Project
does not say. It may vary somewhat depending on which version of Project
you are using, but for Project 2000 these are the limits with regard to
tasks and resources:
Tasks per project file: 1 million
Resource per project: 1 million
Resource units per assignment: 10,000 or 1 million percent.

Hope this helps.
John

Thanks for the feedback. The question really should have been worded how many tasks can be assigned per project for Project Server 2003 which John answered for me. Thanks again
