    - How do I change a positive duration in the Outlook Calendar setti. I am trying to access information in a calendar cell in Outlook and everytime I click on the cell an infromation pops up and says " Can't open this item. You must enter a positive duration".     - Administrative projects of Project server Hello! We have a lot of problems with "administrative projects" - non-project items for which we need to report time (vacation days, sick time, etc). The problem is that these administrative projects still seem to behave like normal projects. For example, MS Project still tries to calculate an end date, a task duration, the amount of remaining work, etc, for things like sick time or vacation. I would really appreciate if I could get any help on how to correctly use the "administrative project" feature of Project Server. Thank you.     - Project 2002 will run install when opened Everytime a user opens MS proj 2002 it runs the install. It used to work fine before. I uninstalled it as an admin and re-installed at users login (a network install, with user users given rights in a group to install), but problem comes back. We are using Office XP sp3 and Win XP sp2. It gives a message saying Project was not closed properly and will open in safe mode. Choosing yes or no gives same action, that is re-installing the software and at the end will give an error msg that the system is out of memory, and terminates the install. The system has 1GB RAM.     - Autofilter - Missing data in drop box I have a large file with multipule names in over 1800 rows, as well as other information in the columns, such as ref numbers. The problem is when I use Autofilter, some of the names in one column doesn't show in the drop down box. As an example, let say you have the letter A in A1, B in A2 and C in A3 with the heading of "Letters". When you use autofilter, you should see A, B, C in the drop box. However, in my case, I'm only seeing A and C, I'm not able to find B in the drop down box list. I'm seeing this same problem in my spreadsheet, however, it's on a much larger scale. What is more frustrating, is when I use the autofilter drop box I can see (for example) letter X in row 1200 but letter Y in row 1201 isn't avaliable. There isn't any gaps inbetween the data, and I can't see any reason why a field in a column wouldn't show up when the one right above it is showing up! I know I can define it as a recurring task but I want to leave my project plan as a top down plan versus a recurring task. For example, a developer is going to spend 2 weeks coding something at 100%, but during day 4,5,6 & 7, I want him allocated to this task 50% of the time, and another task also at 50%.     - Date Calculation I have created a project with a 24 hour calendar and edited the start and end times for the tasks. I have a task that has a 14 day duration, based on its predecessor it should start on 12/7/04. Project is calculating its end date as 1/4/05. This definately is more than 14 days.     - Start date incorrect when using work instead of duration Hi, I'm using Project 2002 with XP Pro. I'm using the Work column to ented the required effort for each task. I have the work day defined as 8 hours. I entered a task that must start on a Monday and entered 8 hours Work time. The next task cannot start until the first one is finished so I established the predecessor. Project is showing the second task as starting on Monday instead of Tuesday as it should.     - Assigning resources Hi, I am working with MS Project and I have some difficulties understanding how assigning ressources work. Lets say I have a Task that is of type "Fixed Work". I assign 16h for the work and 16 hours for the duration of the task. I have two resources that can give 4 hours a week. Then, If I used Alt+F10 to assign resources and I select both resources at 100%, the duration of my task will reduce to 15hours. However, If I do the same thing but by selecting "Information on the task" and in the Resource tab I select the same 2 resources for the task, the duration of the task will shrink to 8 hours (like I expected) Why is there a difference in using the Assign Resource in the tool menu and by going to the form giving information on a task?     - can't outdent inserted projects I have a master project that has 5 projects inserted. I want all 5 projects to have the same level of indentation so that I can minimize them and see the true start and end dates for each project. What happens is that my first 3 projects work just fine and then when I insert the 4th project I can't outdent it to the same level as the others - is basically indented under the 3rd project. Nothing I do changes this. Then when I insert the 5th project it is once again indented one level further again so it is a subproject of the 4th project. i've had no problem with both installed on my computer (used to have 4
versions installed) ... i just installed them into different
sub-directories.
