Wall Calendar's supported by Microsoft Project
We enter alot of our events, projects, deadlines, etc. in
MicroSoft Project(MP). We'd can create a monthly calendar
using MP but not a 12 month at one view calendar.
Does anyone know how to get MP to generate a twelve month
at one view calendar?
or
Does any one know of other software that will accept a
download from MP and then usae it to generate a twelve
month at one view calendar?

free slack
Hi,
I've some trouble with free slack information I get out of
my schedule. For instance I have two activities with an
FS+5d relationsship and a free slack of 10 days. If I
change the relationsship to FS the free slack changes to 5
days, which is correct. If I change it to FS-1d, the free
slacks is changed to 0 which seems to be wrong in my
opinion. Any advise to fix that?

error message on opening files
We have recently switched from project 2000 to 2002 and
get the following error message when we open the old
files. "The operation can not be completed because the
source file contains invlaid project data or the total
number of rows would exceed the limit of 1,048,000 rows in
a project". After we get this error the resources are all
blanked out. The file is only about 500 tasks long. Has
anybody seen this or know how to fix it? Thanks in

Task dates don't update when I change the project start date
Using MS Project 2002/Windows XP.
I have a project plan setup and need to change the start date for the
project. All the tasks are linked with Finish-to-Start constraints,
with the task constraints set to As Soon As Possible.
There is one milestone task which is not connected to any other tasks.
If I change the project start date (Project>Project Information) there
is no change to the timeline.
If I change the start date of the first task, it shifts along the
timeline, but all the other tasks stay where they are.
Can anyone help?

Project 2003 Academic Version
When I accidentally indented a task (so it is one level under a summary) I cannot outdent it again. It seems that once you have done something that automatically creates a 'summary' you cannot go back. (If you create a further subtask under this one for some reason you can outdent the second task but the first one will still not outdent). Can anyone help? Tag: howtoautonumbertasks Tag: 58403

Task notes - View and Edit by all
Hi,
I'd have a question regarding PWA. In PWA, when using
the "Tasks" section, users are able to enter notes and see
notes entered by others. In the "Project" section however,
I could only create a view that allows everyone to see all
notes assigned to each task. Using this custom view, users
are NOT able to add or edit notes.
Question: Is there any way for me to enable all users to
edit and add notes to ALL tasks, regardless whether they
are assigned to a specific task as a resource or not?
Thanks for your time.

Today's Date
My needs are simple - I want to make a 1 month look-ahead
report in Project 98. My problem is that I cannot find out
how to:
1) generate something similar to Excel's "Today()" function

2) add (say) 30 days or 1 Month to a date.

I need training
I've been searching endlessly for a training class in Project. I'm just looking for a 1-2 day introduction. Something local to Philadelphia would be preferred. Please help. I've been to the solution provider page several times. It was obviously written by someone who knows something I don't... like how to find what they're looking for. Please don't suggest I look there unless you'd also be willing to instruct me as to how to navigate the page [its got to be the most un-user-friendly page on the internet]. Thanks in advance! Baseline vs Actual
At the beginning of a project the planned dates are known but the actuals aren't. I can se the baseline to NA but i cannot set the actuals to NA. 1. I don't understand why they would se tit up this way. Does anyone know the answer to my problem? Is there a way of blanking out the actual dates until they actually happen? Export the Gantt chart into Powerpoint
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to export the Gantt chart from
Project into a powerpoint slide ?
If there is no slick way, perhaps just as an image, so I
can paste it in.
The best I have come up with to hit Print Screen within
Project and then paste it into the ppt slide, but I am
sure there should be something a bit better than that !

If project start date is not known
Dear All,
I have just started using MSProject 2000 and cannot find a solution to my
problem. Please be patient.
The question is whether it is possible to set a project to start on Day 1,
Month 1, Year 1 instead of a specific date, such as November 6, 2003. We
need to estimate duration of the project, but project start date is not yet
known.

Archive project documents and linking external documents
Hi,
I have two questions if you can help:
1.
After the project process is finished, how can I make archive of all project documents, risks, issues, tasks, status reports, etc...? So that this finished project cannot be seen in the Project center anymore but project documents (and risks, issuses, etc...) will still be available for access (like knowledge base for future similar projects, etc....)
2.
How can we include project documents which cannot be imported into the sharepoint project workspace (into SQL database)? Those documets must still exist on external file systems, but must be available in the Project Web Server like project documents which are in SQL database. So there must exist link for each external document and not document itself in the document library. This must be transparent to the user (clicking on document itself or link on the document on the same library must open the document).
Thanks in advance for answers

I have a project with several phases to it. Each phase uses the same
resources. When I view resource usage, I have multiple lines (associated

another phase field that will past through?

Project 2000 closes when filter is highlighted

Proxies for Project Managers on vacation or sick?
Does Project 2002 or 2003 support the concept of Proxies for people who go on vacation and need somebody else to Accept/Reject changes until they return? I've been to exactly one training session on Project 2002 but from what I was told by our IT support people, Project 2002 doesn't support the idea of temporary or permanent proxies for project managers. Furthermore, I was told that the work-around is to change the one and only owner of the project to somebody else, and when the original owner returns from vacation, change it back. That sounds pretty awkward/error prone/manual to me. Tag: howtoautonumbertasks Tag: 58341

Resizing of Weeks in Project 2002 Standard Calendar View
Hi All,
I am attempting to print out a month view of tasks imported from
Excel. The first week of the month I may have 1 task over a few days.
The second week I may have 15 throughout the week. The third week I
may have only 1 task again. To be able to see eveything in a one page
printout, is it possible to resize the 2nd week to show all 15 tasks,
then resize the 1st and 3rd week to take up very little room? Without
this, I have a worker who will have to go back to entering everything
by hand into a calendar hand made in excel. By using the import
feature of project we can save him almost 2 hours a week of work while
eliminating any human error that may occur.
Thank You,

show percentage should have been complete
Hi All,
I have a bunch of tasks in my project (like 500) and a baseline that shows
the timeline and how long each task should take.
What I would like to see is one number that shows me what percentage
complete the entire project should have been at this date. I can figure
out how to show the percent complete, but how do I make it tell me how far
along I should be?
I tried the Slipping filter and that's good for showing percentage
complete per task, but not necessarily at the project level and showing
how much each task SHOULD BE completed.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Project Server 2003 and Documents
This issue rised after a fresh installation
1.
when I log to microsoft project web access 2003 using a

The documents, risks and issues features in Project Web
Access use Windows SharePoint Services.
A Windows SharePoint Services site needs to be created for
your project before you can share project documents or
track project risks and issues. Site creation takes a few
minutes, so if the project was just published, wait a few
minutes and then visit the page again. Otherwise, contact
your server administrator.

but there is a catch! if i go to:

I'm able to access the Public documents.

However, the Change Working Time dialog, still shows the old values (i.e 8
