working on a large mpp file with 2000 activities, the size

If you suspect a corrupt file, you could try the suggestions in FAQ Item:
43. File Bloat? - Might be Corruption.

I just tried this out on several "large" files. Seems to work very well...

At first, thought it was a lot of extraneous calendars that existed in both
my schedules and resource pools. That was part of the problem, but the file
corruption issue was the main one I think.

A bit of an update. I did discover that I needed to *not* open the resource
pool when following this procedure. This goes for both creating the MPD
file and saving back as an MPP file.
