end date changes when when data is entered

I have problems where the end date of my project shifts when I enter
actual work for resources. Can anyone help?

Hi,

This makes me wonder.
Normally Project is used by people to calculate planned data, that is its
prime purpose.
You OTOH call for help when that happens.
When tasks finish later that planned isn't it normal the end of the project
shifts as well?
Don't you want project to tell you what is the new, feasible plan?

If people do less work during the first week of the project than the plan
had called for doesn't that mean it isn't proceeding as fast as planned and
will take longer to complete? If they do more than the plan had called for,
doesn't that mean they're getting it done quicker and the project will
finish sooner than first planned? You're asking to cripple Project's very
reason for existence.
