    - Resource Usage - Remaining Work I have created a schedule named resource pool so that my mangers can view and plan remaining work for all schedules. My problem is that the resource usage view shows remaining work on some schedules (sometimes several months in the future) although the actual schedules have zero hours work remaining.     - status date (proj pro 2007) I can't seem to figure out how to use the status date to adjust tasks....and I think this is something I can use....so I want to learn...from the project help file I can see how this should change my tasks. I went to Project/Options/Calculation and selected - move end of completed parts after status date back to status date -- and move start of remaining parts back to status date - move start of remaining parts before status date forward to status date -- and move end of completed parts forward to status date my project start date is 10/31, current date is 11/7, and status date is 1/14. when I enter progress on a task as percent complete the task completed work or remaining work does not get adjusted around the status date according to the project/options/calculation settings. I have the tasks set to fixed duration without effort driven. If the resource doesn't apply time towards the tasks, the planned work will accumulate and the finish date will move further out.     - custom ent field names in 2007 when building formulas None of the custom cost field names appear when selecting fields within enterprise custom cost or enterprise project custom cost during the formula building process. We are passing the name of the project plan, the start date, and the template name to be used to generate the project plan.     - WBS numbering error I'm working a schedule where I've included WBS numbering. For some reason the last 54 tasks out of 1312 are one level off (one level lower). If I insert a column with Outline Numbering, the Outline numbering reflects correctly. I've used Help and can not reach a resolution. Tried PROJECT>WBS>RENUMBER however the RENUMBER is grayed out.     - Actuals in the projectfile not equal to the actuals in the timeshe Hi, We are using project server 2003 with SP2a running on windows server 2003. Last week we found out that in all most all plans (70 in all and 2 admin projects) other than some 7 project plans the actuals in the projectfile and the actuals in the timesheet of the employees are not matching. In few cases the timesheet hours are more and in others it is vice versa. We are using project server for project planning for almost 3 years now and we have found out mismatch of this proportion only now. There is no specific pattern of mismatch either related to admin projects only or in specific projects. It is there in all most all project plans. Could someone please throw some light on how this could have happened? The varied reasons and how this can be eliminated in the existing system or if not possible to eliminate in the existing system suggest few good practices so that this situation will not arise in the future?     - Changing units from percentage to hours I can not for the life me find out how switch percentages to hours. My resources charge and work per hour, as I would believe most resources do. So if I have a task thatâ??s 3 days, how can I assign a resource to the task for 5 hours.     - Using % Physical Complete and Have Summary Progress Hello - I want to use the Physical % Complete column to calculate EVM because it is a better gauge of task completion. It is also the only field that I've found that doesn't automatically calculate the actual cost based on time. I enter resource hours on a daily basis to track actual costs. Any suggestions on how to keep % progress independent from the actual hours I enter and still show a summary level progress?     - Material Resource Cost I am trying to include a material resouce that adds a cost of $0.82 per hour of work to all work resources on my project. I have defined a material resource with a rate of $0.82 and applied it to all tasks with units 1/h. This calculates the cost for this material based on the project duration - I need it to get it to calculate based on worked hours. The best I can come up with is to change my work resources rate to increase by $0.82. I don't like this because I would like to group that cost with other material costs not labor costs.     - Printing a Gantt chart with tasks that are complete identified I have a simple project where all tasks are just milestones (please don't ask why-the customer wants it this way). I would like to have a way to indicate when these tasks are completed and have it show in the Gantt with a color change or something.     - URGENT! - Setting Overnight Working Hours MSP 2002 SP-1: I'm managing a project in US EST time zone with resources in India, one of which works 9pm EST the day before thru 6am EST. I'm trying to adjust the resource's calendar to reflect his working hours and the app is not letting me. I keep getting a pop up stating "end time cannot start before start time" because I'm doing 9:30pm-2:am and 2:30am-6:00am. Do I have to enter it as 12am-6am and 9:30pm-12pm? Will that accurately reflect his work schedule? I switched his calendar to base it on a 24-hr calendar and it still doesn't let me put "overnight" working hours. How do I do this? I have to report the timeline today and I just can't figure it out. We're on a very tight schedule for this project. And they just changed their shift starting tomorrow so I have to make this change reflect so we know what our timeline looks like going forward.     - Project 2003 Hello, I am using Project 2003; and when I try to open a recent file that I have been working on it throws me an error. -Verify that all argument names and values are correct and are of the correct type. -You may have run out of memory. To free up available memory, close programs, projects, or windows that yo aren't using. What is confusing is that it opens up on most other computers.     - Normal template Sometimes when I am on my computer, this window opens about a file called "normal" and ask if I want to save it or save a new version. It is a normal template but I have no idea what it is or why it was created. It just pops up on it's own. Work Around: I made a copy of the outline code. In the copy I inserted a new level and indented the all other levels under a single top level value. This works. of 6 others, all cross linked and accumulating to some 13,000 lines of
activity. I'm now experiencing what can only be considered odd things like
the mix up of task like after removing all filters and sorts etc.
