I had MS Project Professional 2002 installed on my computer. My harddisk
crashed and I restored it from backup. The Prj 2002 did not restore
properly:( My company converted to Prj 2003 and thus no longer supports
2002:( So I installed Prj 2003. Well my system still thinks that Prj 2002 is
still installed (it shows up greyed in the "Add/Remove Programs" app).
Everytime I attempt to update a MS Office product, it wants to re-install my
Prj 2002:( This usually causes the update to fail. I do not have access to
the Prj 2002 install directories/CD. How can I clean this up? Please respond
to bburns@cisco.com.

Probably the best approach is to support the computer support people who
arranged for 2002 to disappear and 2003 to replace it. They will in all
likliehood have a CD for 2002 in their library that will work. At
minimum, I would think they would have a role in figuring out how to fix
this problem since it is my assumption that they are the "supporters" of
this machine.

Unfortunately they have been unable to locate a copy at this time. They have
been looking for several weeks, but i don't think I am very high priority:(

Oh well. I guess planning projects in Cisco no longer a priority. Glad
that I sold my shares :-) !

I recall that how to un-install without the programme CD has been
previously discussed, but I can't remember the details. Try searching
Microsoft's Knowledge Base for this subject, and also search the
newsgroup via http://google.groups.com for where this discussed
previously. My hunch is you have to get the operating system to forget
it about Project in the registry. Given that, I wouldn't recommend
going into the registry and doing anything manually about it.

What happens if you just install Project 2003 over the top ... maybe you
can obliterate 2002 that way. Can't hurt anything to try, can it.
