Hi smithersbig,
I just tried to reproduce what you are seeing on a simple 2 task project
using Task A and Task B. Task A is the predecessor to B and finishes on
7 June. Initially Task B (without task calendar) is scheduled to start
on 8 June. When I create the task calendar with non-working time from 1
June to 30 October, and apply the task calendar to Task B, the Start and
Early Start both update to 31 October.
Is there any working time (even so much as 1 minute) on 8 June?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
