Hi there,
i've splitted a task and added a progress complete which reaches the second
part of the task, but when I add a progress line it still stays at the end of
part 1 of the task despite the actual progress is bigger. In this case the
visual progress line gives a false view.
Thanks in advance

Dear Andis,

I understand your requirement as the progress line stays at the end of first
part of the split task, though the actual progress of the split task is more.

Progress lines are displayed based on the options and details set in
Progress Lines dialog box
1. If you have checked "Always display current progress line", then check if
the project status date or project current date in Project Information is
correct.
2. If you have checked "Display selected progress lines", then check the
date listed under Progress Lines dates list.

Based on the date selected (either in 1 or 2), Microsoft Office Project
identifies the tasks that are on-schedule, and behind schedule.

My guess is the status date or current date in Project Information is before
the second part of the split task.

Please let us know if this helps.

Sai,

Thanks, the info was usefull - I didn't know that Project identifies the
tasks that are on-schedule, and behind schedule.
My progress line was right in the middle of the split. As soon as i set the
progress line date that crossed the second part of the task it straightened
up and the chart looks OK. Changing the project status date didn't bring any
change.

thanks again,

Dear Andis,

Thanks for your feedback.

As per your statement ".. Changing the project status date didn't bring any
change." is because "Status Date", by default, is NA and needs to set in the
Project Information form (Project > Project Information ...)

Please let us know if this helps.
