    - Progressing Using Accumulative "S" Curves I would like to produce a progress report based on planned % vs actual % shown as an "S" curve. I can use customised fields with formulas to calculate the planned %, but I cannot see how to produce an "S" curve. - Any ideas ?? I do not want to export to an excel file as I do this now and I find it time consuming, and I want to set up a central reporting system which anyone can use.     - Progress Bars I am trying to incorporate two progress charts in one msp file. An active progress chart and a static progress chart. The active is the standard tracking gantt that comes with msp with an amended table to compare planned % against actual %. The static chart is easy if in a separate file - I baseline the project and change the activity bars to baseline start and finish, rather than start and finish. I then change the progress bar to Baseline start to complete throughout. If I record the actual starts and finishes in a dummy field ie start1 etc this works fine. However if i put this view in the same file as the active chart, the progress bar works but re-aligns itself to the actual starts and finishes, so sometimes the bar goes beyond the "planned" bar if behind programme or finishes before the "planned" bar if completed ahead of programme.     - Odd task relationships I have set up my project on a 10 hour a day work schedule. I have most of my tasks linked from finish to start. The problem is that if one task has a 1 day duration and finishes on Monday, and is linked to its subsequent task in a FS relationship, the subsequent task is also starting on Monday, not the following day. There is no lead or lag time assigned to either task. I look at the work in calendar view and the two tasks overlap a little on the Monday, but the Gantt chart shows them happening sequentially, with no overlap. I figure I have the work calendar set up incorrectly. Why is the software overlapping the work? I don't want any lag or leadt time. I need the work to happen sequentially. If task 1 finishes on Moday and has 1 day duration, with no hours or resources assigned to it, then the following task should begin on Tuesday, right? Tag: Recent File List Tag: 102535

    - Migrating from a MS Project Server 2003 to another one When you are migrating a MS Project Server 2003 to another server that already has MS Project & SharePoint Services running. Do you need to create a new SharePoint Services Configuration Database or can you just use the same one? If you re-create this configuration database, what information does not get transfered? I noticed that our Project Workspace default template needs to be re-applied (using stsadm.exe). Other than that, I haven't noticed anything else missing. We are not done with the test though.     - Project Pro Publishing Question hello, At the moment i am using project pro and publish a project to my project server 2003 using windows authentication...it works fine using the internal dns name which is the http:\\server\projectserver but when i'm trying to publish a project at home using the internet address http:\\project.domain.com it gives me a error saying "unexpected server error" click on view gives "you are not authorize to view this page" and can't publish.     - ODBC Connectivity To Project Hi everyone, I know that Project supports ODBC connectivity. I'm using Access t write reports, but I'd rather not have to create an mdb file of m project.     - Can't "undo" an indent under a summary task. I accidently indented some tasks, which essentially created a summary task just above them. I don't seem to be able to undo them. I was just in the phase of listing the tasks and phasing them in my project so I hadn't set any dates or durations.     - Cannot overload resource with two tasks Hi all, I have created task1, task2 to the same resource R with 100% on each task within the same period of time. I would expect the resource to be overloaded with 200% but MS Project force the tasks to be done at separate times. It doesn't matter how I set the task type as Fixed Unit, Duration or Fix Work. MS Project doesn't allow me to change the Start date to start both tasks at the same time. Of course it will work if I reduce the resource R to 50%, but that's not my intention. I've got a graphival indicator in my project that uses the followin formula to show green for on track tasks and red for behine schedul tasks: IIf([% Work Complete]<100 And [Start]<now(),"Behind","O Track").     - Missing lines I got an ms project file. There are some lines missing: When I look for the task ID (ctrl +G) and choose 4 it pops up a message box: "Project searched the entire field and did not find a match" 1. How can it be - when deleting rows - the numbers of all the following records are updated? 2. If the row was no deleted - there is no filter, no group and the tasks are sorted by ID - what else can prevent me from seeing those rows. * When I exported the file to excel I found up that the missing rows are a replica of the previous line.     - BCWS not calculated correctly for copied baselines in Microsoft Project Standard 2003 version, I am having a problem with the BCWS being calculated correctly for a baseline in which I copied from the original baseline. I wrote a macro to copy the baseline and the macro copies all the time-phased baseline data as well as the baseline start, baseline finish, etc. Anyway, when I set the status date to a date well past the baseline finish, I would expect the BCWS to match the BAC for that task, but it doesn't. When I look at the time-phased baseline cost, the expected values are listed for each day from baseline start to baseline finish. I then look at the time-phased data for the BCWS, it is not summed up correctly for each day (generally the second day is not summed correctly). If I click on that day and then arrow to the right, the cell mysteriously calculates correctly. Even more strange is the fact that when I use the arrow keys and move to the last day for that task and then arrow back to that day, the cell has reset to the incorrect value. It is my understanding that the BCWS is calculated by summing the time-phased baseline cost data thru the status date. I know my time-phased baseline cost data is correct (I even dumped it to excel and summed it up) so why won't my BCWS calculate correctly?? Any thoughts? Tag: Recent File List Tag: 102400

    - Stoplight Charts I'm trying to create stoplight charts for my management team to see in project. I worked at a previous job that had use the customize fields to show the red/yellow/green in a field based upon a formula. However, I'm not having any luck remembering how this was done.     - Resource availability in PWA We have a global resource pool with approx. 1000 resources. All internal resources are added to the resource pool in the same way by integration to another LOB application. No resources have limitations in available from available to. Some resources have Units limited, but most of these show correct availability When checking the global resource pool all resources show correct availability. But when using PWA and checking resource availability in the "Analyze Resources in Portfolio Analyzer", some resources show wrong availability. E.g. The resource Ole Brok Petersen shows wrong availability, (34,5 hours in 2005 where as several others show 1756, which is correct) despite that his availability is unlimited. Checking PWA is shows that Ole only has 34,4 hours availability and only in 2005 - but that is not correct. Ant the same goes for several other resources. We have checked several tables in the SQL server and it seems that the table MSP_Ressource for some reason has a problem with the RES_ID. This example shows that the same RES_ID is allocated to two different resources We have crosschecked with several other tables and there seem to be something wrong, only I cant figure it out. Can anyone help me???     - Project Server / Outlook Add-In: Error 9529 Hi folks, I am pretty new in Project Server and SQL, so that I cannot solve the following problem on my own: A team member gets an assignment from his project manager and can import it into the Outlook calendar without any problems. When the team member then updates the task via Outlook, he gets the error 9529 (unknown error) and the update is not sent to project manager for approvement. Updating via Project Web Access (without Outlook) works without any problems and project manager gets the notification for approvement. SQL and Project Server are one the same maschine, Exchange Server on another. After reading some other posts I suppose, it is a problem with the date formate in the component PDS which can be solved by changing some stored procedures. Unfortunately, I am not really in this stuff, so I have no idea how to change a stored procedure nor what procedures I have to change. I would be very, very glad to get some help! I am unable to clear the Recent File List in the File menu. No matter what
projects I open, the same names are listed. I have tried uninstalling and
re-installing but that hasn't helped. Is there somewhere else that stores
this information that I can clear it?

Hi Chrissyd2168,

Try going to Tools > Options, General tab. Uncheck the option for Recently
used file list. This should clear the list, then you can go back in a set it
again.
