How can I have better control in outlining tasks of subprojects and the
Master Project so that they are in synch,,i.e., they have the same outline
structure. When I try to adjust (indent, outdent) the task outline , MS
Project prohibits me from doing it.
How can I better control?

Thanks

Harry,
What do you mean, "have the same outline structure"? Depending on how
the master was built you may have problems with outdenting. For example,
a second inserted subproject may be placed "inside" a subproject
directly above it instead of at the same level. To avoid that I usually
either insert all subprojects at once or insert a new subproject above
the existing ones. They can be dragged and dropped after the master is
built.

Also be aware that in a dynamic master subprojects do not become part of
the actual master. Rather, pointers to the subprojects are placed in the
master. Each subproject maintains its own identity. That is why you see
seemingly repeating Task IDs in the master.

Hope this helps.

Project 2003 has a bug which prevents outdenting. There is a fix available
for this.
Download SP1 or the specific fix here:
