    - Custom Column Calculation Hello- I am looking for a solution to the following problem: I need to have a calculation in a column that generates the number of days a project is off schedule. I currently have one baseline Start & Finish date for each task, and one actual Start & Finish date for each task. What I want to do is calculate the difference between the Baseline & Actual Start Date, the Baseline & Actual Finish Date, and then add the two values together to generate a value for how many days a task is off schedule. The column would then keep a running sum of each task so that as you review the latest task in the project, you can determine the current amount of days the entire project is off schedule.     - Openeing & Saving MSP2000 files with MSP2003 Guys, I just installed MSP2003 and I now have the following problems. I have posted before for a similar problem but this time the symptoms are different. Her's what's happening: I open an existing MSP2000 file with MSP2003. I edit the file. Then, when I want to save it I have the following message: "The file cannot be opened" * Check that the file name and path are correct. * Check that the file format is recognized by Project. Project files saved in a version earlier than Microsoft Project 98 can't be opened. If your file is from an earlier version, open it in that version, click ..." I then close the file without saving, try to re-open and can't! The file seems to be corrupted to the point that it can't be opened anymore & MSP2003 is generating a failure report that I do send.     - Linking Slack I have 2 questions: 1.When project calculates total slack it calculates it based on the project end date. Can you link the slack calculation to a task other than the project end date? 2.     - Accessing Project over a non-trusted site Hi, I have been having a problem with Project 2003 when I try to connect to our project server. Project asks to make a site (the Project server) a trusted connect. It fails to do it automatically, but requests the user to make the server a trusted site manually. There seems to be a problem because I cannot set it as a trusted site. I get the error "The site you specified already exists in another zone. Please remove the site from that zone before adding it to the current zone", but the site is not in any other zone!     - Drop Connection to Network file, IT Question Don't know if this is the site or if should go to Server NG. I am a IT support type, limited Project knowledge. One client computer with Project 2K3 Pro. Project functions OK for a while, but without warning the data file shuts down, with one of several messages stating the network resource is unavailable . Data file located on network. Not part of a Project Server setup. Tried to Re-Install application, no help. Thoughts were the laptop's wireless NIC Xmit/Recv was suffering from a heat related failure, but not so. Virus and Ad-ware scans are negative. Errors most likely to occur when network traffic is very high (Time-out ?) Only other project user loaned original user her desktop computer for test and the data file had no connective problems. There are components that are central tasks that if delayed should affect all my client sales. For example if the product release date is delayed then all individual sales are delayed.     - Cube processing of dimension"resource list" failed Our resource information has not been updating in any of the Resource Center views. Also, when we execute a cube rebuild, the screen in Manage Enterprise... only shows the cube update was initiated. It never reports that it completed. So, the DBA and I looked at the database and forced a full rebuild of the three cubes. No change. Then, we did a reprocess of all the dimensions. This is when we got the error on the dimension "Resorce list". The exact error is: Processing dimension "resource list" failed. No changes have been made to the database. Data source error: Cannot save object inside Decision Support Objects (DSO) transaction. No resources added on 3/17 or after are showing up in our resource center views.     - Windows Authentication on WSS workspaces Currently using Project Server and taking advantage of the Workspace functionality offered through Sharepoint. The system is setup to authenticate to a user's network login. Issue: When users are prompted to change their network password they lose access to Sharepoint.     - avoid new baseline Hi As you know, the PMs can save anytime the baseline. It is ofcource important that the PM saves the basline befor publishing the project and do not make anychange if is is not necessary, so that the directors can check everything (for examle with portfolioanalyser) I noticed that some of our PMs reflesh the baseline althought it is not necessary. Because of that we see as if everthing is always OK. So I want to avoid that the PMs save the baseline more times. I mean They should do it jsut one time in the phase of planning. and after publishing they should not do this again.. Is that possible? Thanks.
