I recently taught a class on Project at work. One of my students asked how
to prevent the column titled "Tasks" from opening whenever entering Project.
He doesn't want to always click the red X to close the column. I thought
Tools, Options, General Tab, and then deselect options. To my surprise, it
couldn't be fixed there. So now I'm looking for some help to answer his
question. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

from help
................
Show or hide the Project Guide
1.. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Interface
tab.
2.. Under Project Guide settings, select or clear the Display
Project Guide check box.

..........
(i also pressed the 'set as default' button on the screen, not sure if this
is 100% necessary or not)
