The colours are taken from the Gantt chart settings in the new file.
You can open the Organizer and copy the Gannt chart view from one of the old
files overwritting the one in your new file, or if you want this as the
default for all new schedules copy it into the Global.mpt as well.
However this will only work if you have a consistant view across all of your
old files. If you used different colours in the different files for the
same type of task then I'm afraid you can't do it.
