Hello Sathish,
Just to clarify - you'll need to change your information in at least two
places. If your project will now be planned based upon 9 hours per day,
you'll need to modify the working calendar (Tools > Change Working Time)
and modify the standard 8:00 am - 5:00 pm to add the additional hour.
You'll need to select all working days before making the change.
You also need to change the definition of a "day" and "week" through
Tools > Options, Calendar tab. As you note, newly added tasks will work
with the new "day" definition, however tasks which were in the project
file before the change will show a changed duration (less than 1 day).
To change those durations, you'll need to manually adjust duration or
work.
For further information, please see FAQ 5 "Default Working Hours" at
http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm
If your resource's base calendars are not the same as the project
calendar, you'll also need to modify the resource's base calendar to the
9 hours per day.
You may also find it very helpful to show time as well as date in the
display of Start and Finish. Go to Tools > Options, view tab and select
a date format showing date and time. If you changed your calendar
(Tools > Change Working Time) the times of the tasks should shift, but
you may not see a change in date on an individual task.
I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
