Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup
1. I don't know of an effective way to do this.
2. Colour individual bars by selecting them and using Format/Bar (not bar
styles) and selecting the colour and shading you want. If you want this to
be automatic, see FAQ Item: 31. Customizing Task Bars.
