    - Printing chokes the network I'm working in PPT 2002, SP3, on a Win2k platform. I had 4 jpg images right from the small digital camera, and wanted two pictures per page. I used Photo Album to dump them into a small PPT show, and deleted the default title slide. Four quick slides = 3.3MB file. Printed handouts, 2 per page, fit paper, to a shared HP color laserjet 5500dtn. Several minutes later, I checked the settings to find it was pumping through a 72MB file - mine! What happened to expand the file size over 20x for a simple print command? I know about optimizing image sizes, which I do for large shows, but this was just a quick way to get a couple hard copies for the file. Our network will print 3MB files in a few seconds under normal (Word, Excel, Paint Shop, etc.) conditions. Is there anything I can do about this? Some of the slides contain information that I would like to have print 1 to a page, most of them are fine at 3 to a page. I would think this would be a fairly common need. I don't want to waste 120 pieces of paper if I can get it down to 60. After (exhaustive) tweaking and checking for accuracy, I found that when I created the new CD, then ran it from CD, that it was not WYSIWYG....and I'm confused.     - spacing issue with PP2007, not PP2003 Has anyone seen a problem with extra spacing somehow being injected into text boxes in PP2007? We have a branch office that just came onto our intranet. All the company presentations that they open in PP2007 appear to have an extra empty paragraph added to them that shoves the text upward in the text boxes. (Although placing the cursor at the end of the text in the text box and choosing delete does nothing.) However, when they open these same presentations in PP2003, they are fine and look as designed. I noticed a different post from someone on 6/12/08 that complained about stacked characters. There was mention about non-Microsoft certified printer drivers being the potential culprit. I created a powerpoint presentation. I edited the master template to create a set of slides with different layouts and fixed graphics. I also set the colours and fonts to be used. I then went to themes and told Powerpoint to save the current theme. If I open a blank presentation and hover my mouse over the icon for my saved theme, Powerpoint tries to apply it. Powerpoint will then crash; something to do with ppcore.dll. You get the "Report and Recover my work" dialog. If I save my presentation as a template (dotx), I can create new presentations based on the template without any problems. The original presentation that the theme is based on will open/save/ close without issue. My best guess is that some component that is being referenced as part of the theme can't be read/executed and instead of telling me what, the software is crashing instead. In the standard "edit" view, the text in my Notes section is formatted - bullets, indents, and numbers. However, in the Presenter View, all formatting is lost. And, since Presenter is a view, no editing can be done so I can't add in the formatting. Does anyone know of a way to keep the formatting from the edit view in the Presenter view? Since installing office 2003 in my new dell laptop (precision) I get the EULA
every time I open any office document. It is VERY annoying and takes a lot
of time out of my day to keep accepting.
