I'm using MS Ofc 2K Professional. I have a PP file that contains 5
organizational charts. The file is stored on a shared drive. Other users can
open the file and select/modify any or all charts.
When I open the file I can only select/modify 3 of the five charts. I don't
have the exact msg in front of me ATT but it says something about MS Charts.
I've had Office removed/reinstalled and Office update ran and updates
installed.
I can't understand why I am able to work on 3 of the charts but not the
other two!!!
Any suggestions?
Thanks for any and all assistance....

I figured you would need that, here it is:
Microsoft PowerPoint can't start the application required to open this
object. An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly.
Would you like to repair this feature now? Yes/No.
When we select Yes, we still can't open it. I've reinstalled Ofc 2K and did
update all the way to SP3....
Also, remember, I can open 3 of the 5 charts!!! (in the same presentation)
Thanks again...

This might seem like a strange question, but were all of the org charts
created within PPT? I mean, did you use Insert Org Chart to create them? Any
chance the ones you're having trouble with were created in Visio or
something -- or a program you don't have installed but others do?

They were all created in Ofc 2K, PowerPoint, all within the application at
the same time. Other users can open the file and edit all 5 org charts. Just
on this one users PC, 3 can be edited and 2 get the above mentioned error
msg....
Hope this helps and thanks for your assistance....
I am a grand father and recently taken in 3 of my grand kids, ages 12 - 5 so
sometimes I can't check replies as often as I would like. Thanks for being
patient with me....

Well, it sounds like the Org Chart application cannot start. But if all 5
charts were created using Org Chart, but 3 of the 5 can be opened, then
that's not the issue.

I don't know. I suppose you could try reregistering Org Chart. Steve already
posted a link to instructions for that earlier in this thread:

Can't edit Org Chart, Graph, Excel (error msg: "server application, source
file,
or item can't be found")
