    - PowerPoint Viewer 2007 won't display equations I have some PowerPoint files which include equations created with the Microsoft Equation Editor. They look fine in PowerPoint. But when I try to view them with PowerPoint Viewer 2007, they're displayed as a frame with a little red X in the upper left corner. I have verified that the MS Equation Editor is installed on this computer. (I've checked this by looking in Word 2003 and selecting by Insert/Object, and Microsoft Equation is visible as an option.)     - MPEGs won't play in PowerPoint 2003 My CEO has a PowerPoint presentation with several MPEG-1 clips that he has used many times before. He does have a new XP computer with the same version of Office as before (2003). The MPEG clips do not play. We up run updated codec packs, verfiied latest updates, etc. However, even before checking all those, we found the the MPEG files would play in Windows Media Player on his computer, just not in PowerPoint. As our compnay has its own video department, our team recompressed one of the MPEGs to see what would happen. We were able to hear the audio, but still not see the video in PowerPoint. Help!!     - PPT2003 to PPT2007 Conversion Problem I have a very frustrating problem in changing from PPT 2003 to PPT 2007. The problem is in animating the entrance of bullet points one at a time from the Slide during a Slide Show. With 2003 you could just animate the entrance of each object in the order you wanted them to come in and they looked great. The objects I am using are text bullet points with text shadowing. With the same slide shown in 2007 there is a black background of the text that resides on the slide when animating the entrance of each object before the object is clicked for entrance on to the screen.     - Reuse slides changes text to underline format A PowerPoint 2007 file: Any textbox that is not a standard placeholder in the incoming slide changes to underline format. The rest of the formatting (font, color, size) holds, but everything gets underlined. I have checked the "keep source formatting" box before inserting, I have copied and pasted the entire slide and also just content into a blank slide (and also selected "keep source formatting"), but no matter what, I cannot get the text to come in not underlined. It is only one file that is doing this...but behaves this way no matter what the source file for the imported slide is. I have tried to update the default text box to be sure it is not underlined...but that seems to have no effect.     - Powerpoint 2007 Add-in problem Hello, I have an odd one...About a dozen users in our Australian office use a product called 'Aztec Temple' which includes add-in's for office products. The add-in's pull data from a database on the network to produce graphs and charts on the fly in (primarily) powerpoint presentations. My users have reported that at, or around, june 1st 2008, the add-in stopped working. Could not activate OLE object. My test machines in the USA and Europe do not exibit this behavior. The macro works properly and creates a graph. I've done the 'standard' troubleshooting on these Ausie machines - reinstalled products, removed KB's that were deployed around the time the users started experiencing the issues, rebuit the WMI repository (hail mary).     - Clipart has layers When I create a piece of clipart using a picture or even a graphic and save it as a .wmf file then go back into edit the cipart it has duplicated itself into several layers.     - Copy/Paste cell formatting in tables in PowerPoint2007 I have verified that when copy/pasting a row of cells in a table in PowerPoint 2003, the formatting (specifically fill color) is carried over successfully. However, we cannot get the same function to work in PowerPoint 2007. We have tried Paste Special but that only brings up an option for HTML, which does not carry over the fill formatting. We have tried using the format painter, but that appears to do nothing at all. Can someone please advise how to get the formatting of cells (specifically fills) to copy/paste properly in a table in PowerPoint 2007?     - Charts do not display all of data in data table I am trying to make several different types of graphs in PowerPoint 2007. I need to make bar charts and pie charts. When I enter the data powerpoint stops displaying the data after four values are entered. For example, in a pie chart I have about 10 categories of data, all of which add up to 100%. When I enter the data in the excel spreadsheet, it will only diplay the first four categories and ignores the rest. I have tried moving the display area boundary in excel, have re-entered the data on multiple charts, saved it as .pptx file, etc. but nothing seems to help. I get the same problem with the bar charts - they only display four different categories of data despite having six in the datasheet. I have been trying Microsoft Producer 2003 for Powerpoint, but after doing some tests, now I can't open any .ppt or .pps file. It always says this message: "C:\temp2\Active.ppt could not be imported.     - Interesting Problem I work for a group of physicians who do a lot of presentations nationally and internationally. One of them showed me something today I've never seen before: He opens up a presentation on his laptop (WinXP Pro, Office 2003). The presentation has several avi and mpeg movies on various slides. We run through it, everything works fine. We then connect his laptop to a projector via VGA cable to display the slideshow to the as-yet-to-arrive audience. We go through the presentation once again and some of the media files do not work! Somehow the links have been broken by simply connecting the laptop to an external display. Fortunately, he has a copy of Fix Links so a few seconds later everything is working again. The presentation and media files are all in the same folder - my understanding was that PowerPoint would look for the location that the file was originally linked from, if it didn't exist, it would then look in the folder that holds the presentation. If the media files were there, they would play. I have never seen the simple act of connecting to an external display break the links in a presentation before. He told me this had been happening to him and frankly, I didn't believe him until I saw it with my own eyes today. Anyone experience anything like this before?     - Extracting images from PPT file I need to extract images from a PPT file. For those of you that don't know what a PPT file is it is a Microsoft Power Point File. I can't do several of the methods used as this is going to be web based. I can't have the users save the Power Point project as an HTML project either. There basically going to come to this site i will develop and then upload there PPT file and it will extract the images from the PPT file and then put it on the server temporarily and make and XML. The XML file and the images will be put into a zip folder that they can download. That is basically what is going to happen. My problem is i can't get the images from the PPT file. I was planning on doing this with PHP but i don't know if it is even possible. Also the servers this will take place on are UNIX based.     - White text in PowerPoint2000 I have a user that needs to use white text in her slides. The problem is that the background of the text box is also white. She has to either set the font a different color, or use a background fill (of, say, light gray) in order to see the text as she enters it. If you want to be semi-certain, you'd need to take the EULA (end user license
agreement) to a lawyer who's familiar with intellectual property law.

My layman's understanding of the EULA is that as long as you don't resell the
templates AS templates or do anything that'd embarass MS (no porn, no
questionable language, no promoting illegal behavior, like that) you should be
ok.

The clip art that comes with Office might have different restrictions.
