    - Template Styles I have several teams of engineers collaborating on a presentation. With MSWord files I have provided a dot file with styles defined. Is there a way to have styles defined in PowerPoint? Example: Team 1 shapes (boxes, autoshapes, text boxes, etc) need a blue fill with red text and green line color. Team 2 shapes are orange fill, black text, red lines. Can I make a Team 1 Box style that will apply the appropriate shade of blue, set the text color, font and size and set the line color. The engineer would draw a box and it would display with my defaults from my pot file; and if the box should represent a Team 2 item, access a drop down list of styles and select Team 2.     - Background colour of design template in Powerpoint I'm having terrible trouble applying a neutral background colour to all slides in a presentation. This works fine if the colour is anything other than white, but if I try to apply a white background, I need to go through each slide individually to change the background (Apply All doesn't seem to work with white!). I've manage to change it on the Design Template, but for some reason it doesn't then apply to any of the slides if I impose that template (although it does impose the font styles and colours), and reverts to the very slight off-white default colour, which is a pain because it shows up when true white objects (pictures) are superimposed on the slide. When I save the file as a pptm, I get the following message Your presentation contains one or more of the following: - Binary tags - Hyperlinks on diagrams These items cannot be saved in the PowerPoint 2007 XLM File Format. To preserve these items save the presentation using the PowerPoint 97-2003 File Formats. 1) If I save it as 97-2003, I lose the slide names that I've previously changed 2) How do I find out where the binary tag or hyperlinks are located.     - insert as an object in multipage pdf file Is there a way to specify which page you want to insert as an object from a mulitpage pdf file in PP2007? The needed page is not page 1; however, inserting the pdf always shows page 1 and doesn't provide any options I could find to select the page to insert. I realize I can break up the pdf file and save out the page I need, but not all my coworkers have the ability to do this. Since this is a CAD drawing pdf, using insert object gives the best screen and print resolution, so we don't want to insert the page as a screenshot or other "picture" version of it.     - Protection hello everyone, I'm using Office 2K3 and one of my friend sent me a powerpoint presentation which is password protected and it gives a pop up either to open as read only or it will not open.     - Shifting of text in Graphs that are brought in from Excell I have imported Excell (2007) graphs into power point presentations and the text in the horozontal Axis Boxes shifts down to the bottom of the box moving into the top of the box below. I can do a reset and save to move the text to the right area and do a save it looks ok.     - Ctrl and arrow keys to go to next slide? Would it be possible to do this? The reason I want to do this is for a large public quiz. If the question is on slide 1 and the answer on slide 2 and I accidently press the right arrow twice I would give the answer away! Needing two keys to be pressed would obviously reduce the risk.     - F4 on Custom Animation Being a teacher, its been several months since I've tried to do this, but seems like this has worked for me before. Using PowerPoint 2000, I am inserting pictures, then under Custom Animation choosing Random Effects on the Effect Tab. Then I click on the next picture on the next slide, and click F4, which in my opion should also mark that picture as Random Effects. It isn't doing so. F4 works with adding borders, with resizing pictures, with moving pictures to a specified location, just not with adding Random Effects.     - MS Ofc 2000 PowerPoint Organization Chart Problem I'm using MS Ofc 2K Professional. I have a PP file that contains 5 organizational charts. The file is stored on a shared drive. Other users can open the file and select/modify any or all charts. When I open the file I can only select/modify 3 of the five charts.     - Text boxes are putting letters on top of each other Today when I open a new Powerpoint 2007 file or open a previously saved file, all the text is garbled.     - Refresh linked with excel object using VBA Dear All, Recently I stumbled upon such a problem: I have power point presntation (pp 2000) which contains approxamately 50 slides. On each slide there are tabels and charts. This objects are linked from excel. My question is how can I automaticaly refresh these objects so that I won't have to refresh them manually.     - Writing text on a black or white results in streaks across the scr I am using PPT 2007 on my tablet. When I use the black screen or white screen option to write text, a big streak line appears to randomly pop up from the edges of some of the letter edges.     - Changing path/type of a video file? Hi, is there any possibility to change the path to a video file in an existing presentation? For example: There is a slide with a video path (.../video1.mpg). Now I'd like to change the path to another file (.../video1.wmv.), so that all other animations remain the same. For pictures I can use the option "Replace Picture" (respectively "Bild =E4ndern" in German). In this special case the existing video file is to big, so I converted it with another codec.     - Chart data (excel format) in power point charts I've been creating simple charts in power point (excel opens and I can create the chart and it looks great). Once I save the file and reopen the ppt file later, the chart is still there and looks correct, but I can't open the excel file to modify any data. Hi Ian

You can turn off this (in my opinion annoying!) toolbar through tools ->
options -> view -> untick 'show popup toolbar' for 2002 & 2003 or through
office button -> powerpoint options -> advanced -> slide show section ->
untick 'show popup toolbar' in 2007. I can't remember off the top of my head
whether this is machine specific - so you may need to change the option on
the presentation machine too if you aren't using your own computer.
