Using PP 2007 in Windows XP Home Edition. Have created a PP presentation
with a linked .wav file and 4 linked PDF files. The music was set to run
automatically through all slides and WAS NOT set to stop on a click of the
mouse. The presentation is navigated by a button menu, with a back button to
the menu on each slide. My problem is this: 2 of the menu buttons are
liniked to PDF files rather than slides. As soon as the PDF file opens the
music stops. Also, 2 of the slides have graphics that link to PDF files.
When you click on the graphic and the PDF opens, the music stops.
Occasionally I have had the music resume, but this is rare. IS there any way
in the world to work around this problem? I am planning on putting the
presentation on CD's as a hand-out. The music really makes it great! Thank
you. Any help greatly appreciated!

Are you quite sure that the files are linked and not embedded? Linked and
embedded files act differently in this respect. Normally linked files will
continue to play while embedded files will stop.

John, thank you for responding. I am going to say that the sound file is
embedded, since I had set the KB to 35,000, considerably larger than the
sound file. However, I may have linked the sound prior to changing the KB and
them deleted it after I realized it should have been added after changing the
KB, and then added it back after changing the KB. If I remove the sound file
and save it as a new file will that remove the embedded file (assuming it is
embedded) or am I stuck with it? Thanks again.

Delete the sounds , change the setting and reinsert them should do it
(presuming you have the sound files) If you don't have the original files
save as html will recover them.

John, this worked beautifully. I changed the KB to 100 and re-inserted the
music. My music continues even through the pdf and internet links. What a
relief! Thank you sooooo much!

Glad it helped. Don't forget the music is linked now and will need to
included on the CD!
