    - Default picture size for insert picture Hi, I have MS Office 2007 and import pictures (usually jpegs) into slide shows. Resizing each picture individually can be time-consuming to say the least. Is there a way to set the default picture size for insertion onto the slide so all pictures will be displayed as one size and location on the slide regardless of original size?     - Displaying presentation and notes at the same time? We always play our presentations through a Windows laptop to a projector, no problem. Someone has come along wanting to play the presentation on the projector but see the notes on the laptop screen, all from one laptop. Apparently you can do this on a mac!     - Inserting a movie file into a powerpoint presentation - Windows VISTA I have been creating powerpoint presentations for some years now and have come across the following problem and would be grateful for any suggestions please. My latest presentation for my employer, consists of 56 slides, and on 6 of these I've tried attaching 'movie' files (via: insert menu - movie clip - from file - clip). These are movies ranging in size from 18,000KB to 51,000KB that I have created/filmed myself on a digital (Canon) camera, downloaded to my PC using the accompanying camera software and these have saved automatically in the following format '.avi'. I have successfully 'inserted' these files/movies into my presentation and they function perfectly, with the following exception, there is a problem with synchronisation between the sound (corresponding sound files to movie files are also saved to the PC/laptop) and the image I'm seeing on the screen. I've spent many hours on the phone trying to get tech support from Microsoft directly, but they cannot seem to isolate the problem. I have recreated the presentation from scratch at least half a dozen times and only once, managed to get the whole thing synchronised and running properly on my PC, then saved the presentation, movie and sound files to a USB and transferred it all to the laptop and once again, I have the time lapse between sound and image.     - Powerpoint flicks, especially the first slide. How do I stop powerpoint from flicking when trying to use a powerpoint show slide show on the projector. Xp system. Both Dell machines. Projector can run via S cable DVD fine, its just when you try to use the laptop pc that it will not work properly. when there is a source, pushing Fn F8 does get powerpoint up on the projector (though it is 2/3 of the screen size, and its flicking as well as making the laptop squeek in time.     - Can't get out of slide view A PPT was given to me on a disc. When I open it, it automatically goes to slide view. I would like to view it in normal view, but can't seem to do so. The only way out of this slide show is to hit Escape, or End slide show from the menu on the bottom left of the screen. Any suggestions would be so greatly appreciated.     - Play continuously without clicking I have about 20 movies (very short) in 20 slides in a PP presentation.     - Saving information from a series of sets of option buttons Hi, I'm running an experiment in powerpoint where after a set of slides, I need people to respond to a question about what they've just seen. This is repeated several times, each time requiring a response. I've set this up with (in the simplest case) a pair of 'Yes' and 'No' option buttons. Unfortunately, when I test run the presentation, filling in each selection, only the last slide containing option buttons retains the selection - the others are blank. I know there could be several reasons for this, and I would normally trawl through the tutorials and forums, but I'm really under time pressure, and since a quick look hasn't helped I thought I'd just ask! The first thing I thought may have caused problems is that I've copied and pasted the slides (since there are 48 repetitions), so the option buttons have the same names on all the slides. However, I've tried calling them different things, and this hasn't helped. More fundamentally, I haven't saved the presentation including macros. I was hoping they wouldn't be necessary, since I don't want powerpoint to do anything with the information from the options, just to have the value property set to true or false, and I was hoping to save people the confusion of allowing macros to run. However, I understand this may be a necessary complication. If I do need to include macros, could someone clarify whether or not I would need to give each option button a unique name, or whether the fact that they are on different slides will suffice. Also, can anyone suggest a simple code to save the information within the presentation? I'm happy to manually get the results rather than have an output file, since this will be done on people's home computers and so creating and saving an output file would probably be too messy, but I do need all the option button sets to retain their information throughout the presentation and save it when the file is saved, so that I can access it later.     - Package for CD - do not want to Autorun linked PowerPoints I've created a PowerPoint CD with links to many Word and PowerPoint documents. These are documents meant to be opened and edited by the users for their own schools.     - Pasted links from excel to PPT not working I have a few slides in my presenattion which have pie charts. These pie charts draw data from an excel file. I have paste linked the data from excel to the datasheet for the pie chart. The link works fine as long as the two files (ppt and excel) are open but once they are closed, the link is lost.     - Imported Picture resolution is reduced After importing a picture, I scale the picture smaller to appropriately fit in my presentation. In PP 2007 automatically reduces the resolution of the picture. If I try to increase the size of the picture to its original size it becomes grainy because PP 2007 has reduced the resolution.     - Animation carbon help I'm trying to use animation carbon with ppt 2003. I downloaded the trial version and am having trouble. I have a shape that I drew 2 custom paths for. It moves from point A to point B on the first click. On the 2nd click it moves back to it's original spot with the 2nd custom path (from point B to point A). When I try to copy this animation to another object, it duplicates the first path 2x instead of copying both paths. The result is the 2nd object moves from point A to point B on the first click. On the 2nd click it repeats itself, moving from point A to point B again. Any simple way to explain this or is there another tutorial for animation carbon beside the one from InDezine. Thanks.     - default location for slide templates I am trying to save a new design template to the default so it appears in the master list (to the right) when I go to select a Master Design. Microsoft's instruction SAY it will automatically save to the template default location AND that it must be there to be useable. However, my file is not saving to the default.     - Copy & Paste Problem When I try to 'copy and paste' a graphic assembled from squares, rectangles, arrows, text which have been turned into appropriate positions, they 're-arrange' when I paste into Word 2007 or even on another slide page in Powerpoint 2007?     - Deleting cropped regions or compressing TIFF images in PowerPoint 2007 When I insert a TIFF image into PowerPoint 2007 on Windows XP Pro SP2, I cannot delete a cropped region or compress the image even though I was able to do so in PowerPoint 2003. I have reproduced this on another computer, so it doesn't seem to be a set up issue. I can delete the cropped regions if I copy the image and then paste it as a PNG, but then I lose resolution, which I cannot afford to do yet.     - Problems Exiting PowerPoint When I select the "Exit Powerpoint" option, a window pops up saying that "Microsoft Office PowerPoint has stopped working". If I closeout PowerPoint using the "X" in the top right of the screen, often PowerPoint tries to restart and I have to select "Cancel" to have it close out and not restart.     - close application from event handler I'd like to close PowerPoint from an event handler, but it gives me an error when i try to do so. Right now i have it set up so that when PP is open a macro runs the show for a set amount of time. At the end of that, the show is closed (ActivePresentation.close) and then i'd like PP to close as well (Application.quit) but apparently this code can't be run off an event. I am looking to embed a number of Excel charts in powerpoint that will update
from the spreadsheet. Unfortunately it is a large spreadsheet and the
powerpoint doc will be distributed to a number of people so if I embed the
charts as part as the spreadsheet it becomes very large.

Is there an alternative way of doing this?
