    - applying multiple slide masters in a presentation Hello: I am using two basic slide layouts in my presentation: one with one large text box, and one with two side-by-side half-size text boxes. I would like to apply a separate slide master to either layout. However, while the "one large text box" slide master seems to apply okay (I think it is the default), I cannot figure out how to apply the "two side-by-side half-size text boxes" one when I make a slide of the other layout. I think, perhaps, that what I am missing is some way to choose a slide layout and then make a slide master specifically for that layout. Does anyone know how to do this? I am using PPT 2003.     - PPT screenshow on extended desktop? (I tried first on the XP group, but no answer - maybe I asked the wrong people, so I'm trying here.) With XP Pro, I extended my desktop onto a second screen. Then I opened PowerPoint, opened a PPT-2003 file, and moved it over to the second screen to work on it. At some point I clicked "Screen Show", and the screen show came up on ... the first screen. Why didn't it come up on the second screen, and is there anything I can do to get it onto the second screen? (This actually has practical applications -- I tried to use the extended desktop technique to attach a projector as the second screen - but if I can't get the screen show to appear on the second screen, then, well, forget that idea.)     - Lost data from chart created via VBA from excel. PROBLEM REPORT Powerpoint version now in use: 2003 Version the file was created in or opened in since, if any: 2003 Windows version: XP Other hardware involved (printer, etc): none Description of problem: We are using VBA in Excel to build powerpoint presentation with data from in the spreadsheet. After a step through the vba code we determined that the saving action is causing the data inserted intot the bar charts to disappear. We are able to see the charts after saving the presentaion but the charts disappear once we click on them to access the data (they do not come back if we save changes to ppt after clicking the graph). This only happens with graphs, all other objects populated in the same way are fine. When I do this: click on graph Here's what happens (include text of any error messages that appear): no error messages appear, the data used to populate the bar graph disappears and so does the graph (since there is no data to be displayed) or Here's what I expect to happen, but it doesn't: Here's what I've already tried to solve the problem: used variables to populated datasheet in the ppt, then tried using copy and paste.     - Inserting Alternative Text in a PowerPoint Footer Hi, I am creating a PowerPoint presentaton that contains a single JPG image per slide. I would like to display the JPG filename in the footer of the individual slides of the presentation.     - can't open ppt 95 files in office 2007 I just installed ppt office 2007. I have hundreds of old ppt presentations that I reference from time to time. They are either ppt 2003 or ppt 95 version files. It would appear that office 2007 cannot open the 95 version files. Now what do I do? I no longer have the original ppt software on my computer as I did not choose that option during the installation of office 2007.     - Sharing Custom Color themes I have developed 8 custom color PowerPoint themes tied to my company brand. These are working very well for me, but others at my company would also like to use them. I've saved the PowerPoint with the custom themes as a template (potx), but when I send the template to my colleagues, the custom color themes are not available. I would think a template would hold the color themes, but they do not. Is there any way to automatically add .thmx files to your custom library without having to save each theme separately?     - Tool bar question Well it's not really the tool bar, don't know what to call it! Down at the bottom of the screen when you're editing a slide, the bottom-most bar says "Slide X of Y" on the left side, then there's another box to its right. A presentation I'm working on has the word "RISK" there somehow, and I don't know how to get to it to get rid of it. Likely no one would ever really see it since you'd just hit "run slideshow", but just the same I'd like to remove the word. The original presentation was created by someone else, so it wasn't something I did to add the word.     - Add Excel Workbook to PPTX file I am writing n application to automate producing charts in Powerpoint 2007 using Excel 2007. Does anyone know the VB / C# code to enable me to embed the associated Excel workbook in the PPTX zip file - so that it is saved with the archive just like the Excel workbook that goes with 'normal' Powerpoint 2007 charts and is saved in the PPTX file?     - Trial version does what? I just downloaded installed and activated the trial version of office 2007 pro, just so i could play with the new powerpoint a little. However, it wont let me do ANYTHING, except for opening an existing pp file and looking at it. EVERYTHING is greyed. I cannot edit anything, or even type anything. Is this normal? I assumed that the trial might have some limited functions.. but this won't let me do anything whatsoever. Is this right?     - Pasting into Word We're getting fuzzy images when we paste (fully grouped) PowerPoint graphics into Word documents. We use "Paste Special" and "Picture (Windows Metafile)" and then format using "In line with text." This all works, but the resulting graphics are fuzzy.     - Two (Asst.) Heads Share Three Subordinates... I'm using Power Point 2003 and I don't have much experience with Power Point. I'm starting with the Chief. As subordinates of the Chief there are two Assistant Chiefs. Off the two Assistant Chiefs there are three Corporals. That's where my problem begins. The three Corporals each have a number of Patrol Officers that answer to them, but the Corporals answer equally to the two Assistant Chiefs. I want a connector line from each Assistant Chief drawn to the three Corporals and I want everything centered and balanced. I can create two subordinate Corporals from one Assistant Chief and one subordinate Corporal from the other Assistant Chief, but then everything looks off balance that way. I want the Patrol Officers (co-workers) added as subordinates to the same boss so that they will branch vertically in columns and I can do that.     - VBa adding slide title I can manually add a title to a slide in outline view. If I then go into VBA I can change this title using myDocument.Shapes.Title.TextFrame.TextRange.Text = "My first Slide" If my slide doesn't already have a title, then I get an error from the statement above. I can't figure out how to add a title to a slide that doesn't already have one. It seems that a title has to do with a shape, but I can't identify one specific shape that is always the title shape. I see that I can do that during a presentation for 'new' ink, but once I've selected 'keep' for the ink the only way to get rid of previously saved ink it is to manually erase each bit.     - true type fonts displaying weirdly/incorrectly When i use the Arial font in powerpoint the text shifts up. To select it i actually have to click underneath it. This means the text appears to be outside of the text box. I can save the file, and open it on someone else's computer, or even upload it to windows live and the problem is not there.     - Hyperlink issue when converting a file from 2003 to 2007 Whenever I create a file in PPT 2007 and set it up in Kiosk mode where on teh hyperlinks can advance the slide to the predetermined slide via hyperlink I am having a problem when I "Save As" 2003. I reopen the file on my second PC or any other PC that has 2003 on it and all the Hyperlinks are damaged and don't link to their original destination. Once I go back to the original document that created the Save As file (I didnt rename it) I lose all the links to the orignal as well. The 2007 version after savign mimics the errors created in the 2007 file.     - shift x-axis I have a line/scatter graph, and i would like the x-axis to start at 0. However, i want the 0 to be a little right of where the y-axis comes down.     - Selection Pane for 2003 I have PowerPoint 2007 and a colleague has 2003. In 2007 on the HOM ribbon there is a Group called Editing. One of Editing's options i Select - Selection Pane. Here I can see all of the objects on my slid and I can move them forward or backward as far a layering goes and I ca View or Hide the objects as well.     - Problem opening a .ppt presentation from an online source I am in a college course and my professor has his presentations loaded on an internet share site called WebCT...something like SharePoint. Whenever we first started viewing the presentations, of course you would click the link for the presentation and then the File Download box appears and you click open. The presentation would load just fine. Now when I go to open a presentation and click "Open" the presentation will load and ave only blank pages. You may see some outlines of a chart or a few animations or arrows but no text or anything else. I once go a message that said something about maybe some of the applications in said presentation are not able to be viewed. So from that point I tried to reload the presentation by clicking "Save" and still the same result.     - edit (ungroup) excel chart in powerpoint 2007 Hello, I'm using the trial version of Office 2007 (and looking forward to probably upgrading back to 2003). I used to be able to paste an excel chart into powerpoint, right click to ungroup all the chart elements and then edit as I please. How is this done in 2007? The chart pasted into powerpoint remains an excel chart and I have access only to the editing options available for a chart, which are insufficient for my needs. Perhaps one option would be to first paste the chart into photoshop or some other graphics program but I need to be able to edit/move individual elements of the chart and not have it treated as a single graphic.     - Macro for changing the colors of objects based on user input Here's my problem: I take hours creating an architecture blue print/flow chart and my boss doesn't approve some of the colors in the legend. At times there are atleast 20-30 objects with that color and it takes me AGES to change the color( to be told that i need to change the color yet again). I have blank slides showing up between slides when I run slide show. They do
not show on the slide sorter as being there. The previous and following
slides are not graphic intensive so the slides should not be hanging up. How
do I get rid of these blanks? All slides are set to transistion on mouse
click.

If they don't show in slide sorter view there won't be any real blank slides.

If you see them in a show most likely there is an "on click" animation there
that is stopping the content showing?
