    - COrruption in Player Hi not sure what my problem is. I've created a show in powepoint 2003 and it tests perfectly in f5 mode When I pack it into Cd mode and play it the screen shows weird erratic views with tables distorted and letters on top of each other. I set it to 1024*768 and viewed it at that resolution. I've tried it on several screens and all show the same.     - Including Audio Files Today I sat through a PPT 2003 presentation during which there was narration from start to finish. When the narrator said, "Let's look at the next slide,", the next slide automagically appeared. I have read several web sites and the PPT help, but I am still not clear how this presentation was created. My question is, does PPT treat narration audio different from embedded or linked audio? The slides were not equally spaced. The audio of slide one was a minute. The audio of slide two was 30 seconds. The audio of slide three was two minutes. What I would like to do is to have a (wave) sound file play all through the presentation, and have the slides change at pre-selected points during the audio file, as above. I do not want to have to record the narration in real time. I know how to add an audio file to each slide, but that's not what I want to do. I just want to play the audio and manually trigger the slides at the appropriate time and have PPT remember the timings. How do I do that?     - Help Plz: Problem playing AVI file within PowerPoint When attempting to play an .avi file that has been embedded in a PowerPoint presentation I receive the following error msg: Video not available, cannot find 'vids:xvid' decompressor. The particular video plays fine when directly accessed by Windows Media Player. Thanks, in advance, for any help or suggestions.     - Making poster size 4' by 8' I have to make a poster 4' by 8' and when I try to set this size in Powerpoint, it keeps changing it from 96 x 48 to 56 x48. My poster has to be 96 x 48.     - fonts I installed office home and student 2007 on my wife's vista laptop and also on my xp desktop. Did a presentation using australian sunrise font on the laptop and copied it via pen drive on to my desktop to print it off but the wording did not appear, on checking, the laptop has australian sunrise in the fonts but my desktop has not.     - Embedding excel sheets into powerpoint slides I am trying to insert an excel worksheet into a powerpoint slide. My problem is that I cannot seem to insert the sheet so that it can be manipulated during the presentation. The excel sheet is part of a large workbook. Macros conatined within the sheet allow the user to select via drop-down menus certain criteria that then automatically displays a summary of figures for that scenario. The aim is to enable the presenter to show, duing the presentation and without leaving powerpoint, how the funtions of the excel worksheet work.     - Paste() to slide in c# application Hi all, Quick question. When using Powerpoint through the application, i can get content from a word docuemtn and paste it directly onto a slide in a presentation. I want to be able to do this via the PowerPoint object model. At present all i can manage is to add a new text box and paste to that. The problem i have is that the new textbox alters the formatting of the text when it gets pasted. Can anyone suggest how i might go about this so's to keep the formatting that the copied content has.     - Create a Print Button on Slide with VBA from Access Hi, I have some VBA in an Access 2003 database that produces a slide and displays data from a table in a presentation. It is working well. I have been asked if it is possible to put a print button on the last slide and when clicked, all the slides would be printed. I have the code below that puts a custom action button onto my last slide. I don't know how to get it to print when the button is clicked. I understand that "Print" refers to a macro that would be in the PowerPoint VBA but this VBA is running from Access, creating the presentation on the fly. So how can I get that button to print the slides in the presentation currently being displayed?     - Text not justifying Hello, When I type a long sentance on powerpoint and it is more than one line, the second and subsequent lines are not in line with the first line, they are indented in. I'm not sure how to justify the lines. It may have something to do with bullets as these are descriptive lines underneath a bullet point. I want to keep the bullet point.     - swf in powerpoint 2003 problems My girlfriend does marketing and she wants to put a flash file in her powerpoint for her boss. we can do the whole insert a shockwave flash object and point it to the swf but it doesn't work right. The thing is she got this flash file from someone else in the company. You're supposed to run the exe and it plays the flash content. There's a basic background and a table of links on the left. As you click on the links, the content in the right changes. All while this happens a series of pictures cycles at the top. Now, outside of powerpoint, if you run the swf file, it will only work correctly if the "assets" folder is in the same folder as the swf file. If you pull that assets folder out of the folder with the swf, it only shows the background. None of the content loads. That being said, is there a way in powerpoint to add the swf AND have it pull the content from the assets folder or is it not working because of how it's set up as the .exe package? She can call the .exe as a hyperlink in the document too, but then there's an annoying message saying some files can harm...blah blah blah, are you sure. Not too professional for a presentation in my opinion. is there anything we can do, or does this flash project need to be created a different way to play properly in powerpoint? I have a macro that formats my selected text in a special way, and I want it to put a line (not underline, an actual line) under the text.     - Printing animations I=92m working on a PPT add-in where I want to print a slide in different stages of an animation. If I print a slide that uses the build animation what I get is the final stage of the slide. I would like to be able to print all stages of the animation so that I can run a simplified version of the animation myself. I=92m currently printing slides into XPS format using the ExportAsFixedFormat method. Is it possible to print other stages of the animation into XPS format?     - Information Pop-up You know how when you move your cursor over a command button a little box will pop up telling you what that button is? Is there anyway to get something like that in Power Point? We have a map of our campus and we would like to set it up so that when you move the mouse over a building a little box would pop up with some basic information (building name, date of construction, gross square feet).     - Video playback in Poweroint 2007 using Windows XP I recently purchased a new HP laptop computer. I ordered it with Windows XP but I have Office 2007 installed. I am a frequent user of Powerpoint. I have tried inserting standard .wmv video files but they won't play. So I used my old computer with Windows XP but Poweroint 2003 and created a presentation with a few .wmv files and .wav files. Everythign is fine.     - Document font sizes change on different machine I am running PPT 2003 w/ SP2. When I open presentations given to me by several other users in the office, the fonts resize or reformat on their own when I open the file. For example, a font may format to bold that was normal typface, or it may grow by a size. I checked the same files on another user's machine (who is running same version of Office), and the files open without issue. Is this the bug that has been mentioned a few times in earlier posts?     - Audio setup in PPT 2007 Using PPT 2007 in XP home for the first time (used PPT 97 previously) to create a birthday montage. I have a few .wav files to include, and I want each to span over a specified number of slides. I'm using Rehearse Timings which I believed would allow me to set the exact number of seconds the clip played per individual slide, and then transition automatically to the next slide. But when you play the slideshow, the slides don't transition at all. (this will be burned onto CD and connected via laptop to be viewed on a TV so it HAS to transition automatically). To add the file, I did Sound - Sound from File. I've tried every possible setting and it still doesn't transition. I don't remember having this problem in PPT 97, but then I don't think that had the Rehearse Timings feature. PLEASE HELP!! THANK YOU!!     - How can I type foreign accents without using insert symbols? I teach foreign languages and always struggle with the fact that I cannot as easily type foreign accents in Powerpoints as I can in Word where this is not difficult at all.     - Video in PPT flashes for a moment before playing... Hello, I have two videos in a powerpoint (2007) presentation, and when the slide advances, the first frame of the video shows, then disappears for a second, and then the video resumes. It does not do this when played outside of Powerpoint. I've moved a copy of the PPT along with the two WMV files and shortened the names to minimize the length of the file path.     - How to resize individual elements within a chart template I need to be able to alter slightly an individual element within the standard chart template - the size of the "assistant" box. I have applies the template to a slide and right-clicked the box that I want to add an assistant box under. I then right-clicked the assistant box and choose "Format Auto Shape".     - "Color Typewriter" animation slower in '07 than '03 My company has rolled-out an Office '07 pilot, and I've noticed a drastic decrease in visual performance when viewing animated slides I've created in the '03 version of PPT. Specifically, the color typewriter effect performs more sluggishly. I've read the thread regarding "print drivers" as the fix, but I'm still curious as to why there is a difference in performance between the two versions when the environment (my desktop configuration, the network...) has not changed. Is PPT using a different method for rendering animations? Have the recommended system requirements been radically changed?     - Custom Animation I use Office 2003. When I try to animate (Custom Animation), I can set it up but the animation doesn't work. That is - the Custom Animation menu opens up, I can see that Group 1 should appear with the first mouseclick, Group 2 with the second etc. but when I go into the Slideshow, everything appears at once. I did add the option that would allow me to open Office 2007 documents a few weeks ago, could this cause any problem?     - Powerpoint 2003:Missing Images I have created 4 Chapters of Photo and Sound Images (460 Images in Each Chapter) using Powerpoint 2003. The problem I have is, when using Powerpoint 2003 to view the Presentations, about every 5th to 12th Image is missing on screen. Since this problem presented itself in Powerpoint, I also notice that Emailed PPSs miss some Images. This problem does not happen if I use Microsoft Powerpoint 2003 Viewer to view files outside of Powerpoint 2003 itself. I have also determined that the problem does not present itself when the same Presentation Files are run on other PCs or Laptops. In an effort to identify the cause of this problem I have tested with Graphics Accelleration both on and off and various settings for Accelleration. No improvement. I have changed out and increased DDR400 Memory to max of 4 Gb, I have performed a Windows Repair Install and Un-Installed Graphics Card Driver and Installed current version Driver 93.71, all to no avail, missing Images still persist. My PC specs: MB = Gigabyte GA-81PE775 Pro, CPU = Intel P4 3.0GHz, RAM = 4Gb DDR 400, Video = GeForce MX 4000 93.71 Driver, HDD = SATA 500Gb, OS = XP Pro SP2 + Updates, Application = Office 2003 SP3 + Updates, AVG AntiVirus and AVG AntiSpyWare. Can anyone Please advise if my Hardware can be contributing to this problem in any way or any other pertinent information that may assist in resolving this problem. I am trying to track images as they appear and disappear based on user input.
I know there is a simple way to count them as they disappear or appear and
show the results in a textbox, but I cannot remeber the code. I am using
Visual Basic in Powerpoint. Any suggestions??

What makes the images appear and disappear? What's the user input?
