How can I get a hyperlink to be followed automatically on slide transition
or on object animation - i.e. without clicking it or mouse-over?
I am using PPT2000.

TIA
Chris

What exactly is it you're trying to do?

I wish to link to another presentation when I press down-arrow to go to the
next slide - I don't wish to use the mouse..
I want to do this as the secomd presentation is a short loop from which I
wish to return to the first presentation by using Esc.

cheers
Chris

I think TAJ's linking tutorial might be what you need, then.

http://www.awesomebackgrounds.com/powerpointlinking.htm

I think it's going to return you to the same slide, though. So what I think
you may need to do is go ahead and transition to the next slide on mouse
click and give the animated object (as explained in the tutorial) an
automatic "with previous" animation as the first thing on that slide. So
when you press the down arrow, you move to the next slide, the embedded
other presentation opens and shows, and then you come back to that slide
when the embedded presentation closes (because your main file's been open in
the background and sitting on that slide the whole time).

Thanks. I'll have to read it carefully to extract what I need. I must say
that I much prefer one-liners than very detailed step-by-step "idiot"
guides - but you cannot please everybody! Not sure that some of the
features used (eg "with previuos") ara avaialable with PPT200.

Thanks again.

You should still be able to make it happen automatically when the slide
starts in 2000.

Unfortunately, this technique isn't one you can explain in a one-liner. It
needs a detailed tutorial.
