Hello there, I've added hyperlinks to boxes on the main slide of our
organizational chart with selected slides as the designation. The action is
to jump to the designated slide when a linked box is clicked in the slide
show view which is not happening. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

How did you create the links? Are they applied to a shape with no line and
no fill, by any chance? Or maybe a shape with 100% transparency?

Which version of PPT are nyou using?

Thanks for helping me out. I am using PPT2007. I created the links by first
selecting the text in the desired box within the organizational chart that I
made using smartart in Microsoft Word . Once selected, I clicked on the
Insert Tab and selected Action. I selected hyperlink to the desired slide.
When we attempt to run the slideshow, nothing happens when we click on the
text within the desired box.

Hm. That works fine here. You're not running this in the PPT Viewer, are
you? Or are you saving as 97-2003 format (PPT or PPS)?

I'm about to pull my hair out - presentation is tomorrow. I've saved it .pptx
and .ppsx. When we run slide show and click on the name inside of the linked
box, nothing happens.

Well, since it's not working there, what I'd do is this:

Place an autoshape (a rectangle or whatever) on top of the text on the
SmartArt and add the link to that.

Give the box no line, but DO give it a fill color.

Select the rectangle and click the dialog launcher on Drawing Tools Format
tab | Shape Styles group. (It's the little box at the lower right edge of
the group.)

In the Fill tab, choose 99% transparency.

If you use a no-line/no-fill box, the link won't work. In a similar vein, if
you use 100% transparency, the link won't work. But 99% transparency does,
and the box will not show on top of the SmartArt.

Repeat for each necessary link.

Hopefully this will at least work so you can get your presentation done and
stop going bald!

Oh, hey, your slide titles don't have commas in them, do they? You can't
link to a slide with a comma in the title. (At least, you couldn't in
earlier versions of PPT. Not completely positive about 2007, though.)

Great. I didn't mention this, but I should have: you may need to use the
Send to Front options (Home tab | Drawing group | Arrange button) to bring
the box with the link in front of the SmartArt. You can also use the
Selection and Visibility pane (Home tab | Editing group | Select button's
arrow) to select the various boxes and move them in front of the diagram.
