We are having some serious problems with our sharepoint.
We are running small business server 2003 with the built in share
point.
Our IIS 6 admin has inadvertently changed the permissions on the
"companyweb" within IIS 6. She changed them by adding the write
permission to the root and then telling it to propagate to all the
child nodes.
Since this I can access the site via the http://companyweb.default
I can see the various document libraries, etc but when I try to open a
word document via the portal it pops up a box asking which format I
would like to convert the document to with options like plain text,
html, etc.
all other users cannot access the portal. when they try they get the
option to save a document called companyweb.
when I try to get to the sharepoint via the network, I.e. \\companyweb
it tells me that this resource does not exist or the permissions are
wrong.
Our IIS 6 admin has removed the write permission but this has not made
any difference.
does anyone have any ideas?
