    - IIS Error for 1 user in entire domain My Domain Users group has access to the home page of the corporate intranet. They have R/W access via IIS and still 1 particluar person is still getting a IIS error when he tries to access the corporate intranet. It is a 403.2 error indicating the user does not have access, I checked just to verify he was part of the <domain>\Domain Users group and he is.     - Automated Workflow I have been playing with the workflow in sharepoint. I'm having trouble creating a workflow that checks the currentdate and the duedate in the project tasks list. The workflow works when a user modifies the record. I don't think the 3 options will work for what I'm trying to do when I created the workflow. I expected the work flow to send a email to the assigned to when the duedate was lessthan currentdate. I wanted the workflow the automaticly run without the user clicking on the record. I wanted to use a while loop in the workflow with a sleep at the end. There doesn't seem to be a option to allow me to change the if condition to while.     - Finding a virus infected file in the Sharepoint Portal Server Hi, Symantec anti-virus picks up and cleans some file(s) every time it runs on our SPS 2003 server. They are always in the \Program Files \SharePoint Portal Server\DATA\Temp\spsgthrsvc\ folder and I have worked out that it is the search gatherer that is pulling the files out of the database and putting them there to be searched at which point the anti-virus sees them. The question is, how do I find out which files in Sharepoint the infected gatherer files correspond to? By the time they have been copied locally, they have been re-named to random names like flt7116_6892.doc, so how do I hunt down the offending object(s) in the document libraries so I can delete them?     - IE 6 Bombs Out When Trying To Navigate Through Intanet We have IE 6 on one of my users workstations. He can get to the home page of the intranet but when he tries to manuver around to any other of the pages within the intranet IE bombs and fires off a .dll error. Same happens if I give him a url within the intranet (to a workspace etc) -- he can get to it fine but when he tries to drill into a component of that site IE bombs with a .dll error. Any ideas.     - MOSS SSO with Lotus Webmail Hello everybody, I have client with a Lotus mail system and are now introducing SharePoint in their environment. They plan to move to exchange, but that wont happen anytime soon. For the time being they are looking to integrate Lotus Web Mail within SharePoint with Single Sign On.     - Cannot Install Application Templates On Sharepoint Portal Server I have downloaded the Application Templates and cannot install them. The command it says I have to run stsadm with some parameters. The location of this command is in this folder... C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN I DO NOT have this folder but rather have C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\BIN One of the commnad line parameters for stsadm.exe according to the documentation is "addsolution".     - MOSS Authentication Mechanism During deployment MOSS 2007 for my clients, I found a strange scenario with Document Library: 1. User A logged in using his domain account to A's PC, and accessed one of the Word document in MOSS's document library. A is able to view it in Word, but Word showed that the document is read-only (although A has rights in that library). 2. User B is able to view and edit that particular document in B's PC (logged in using her domain account). When using B's account on user A's PC ("sign in as different user"), B encountered the same problem as A (view document as read-only). 3. If A's PC is logged out of A's domain account and logged in using B's domain account, the problem is gone. B is able to edit that particular document (and so is A). 4. Then using the same session on A's PC (with B's account), user A did a force log-in using A's account. And the problem is repeated (view as read-only). - A and B are on the same domain. - A and B's PC have more or less same configuration. I hope the description is clear enough to provide the complete picture. It's a must for me to explain why this happens, so really appreciate any helps. My guess is this has to be related to MOSS's authentication mechanism with NT and web-based. Anyway, I have two questions: 1. Does MOSS always invoke NT authentication when user access its sites? 2. And when the user doesn't log in as NT domain account, is web-based authentication be used for authentication? 3. Will domain policies of A and B make difference in this case?     - Login changes when viewing SharePoint library folder First, I apologize if this has been discussed, but I was unable to find anything searching the posts. Probably my poorly defined search criteria. I'm having a strange problem with a folder created in Exploere view. We are running MOSS 2007 with Office 2003, and a user was moving files from one location to another by dragging and dropping them from Explorer view of different libraries. Things seemed to work for awhile, but I started receiving complaints that files were not available. I checked permissions and the library is available to the audience that needs to see it and is open for anonymous access as well. If I visit the library as anonymous, and click to view a folder, I'm provided a another list of folders. If I click on one of these subfolder, I can see a listing of the files in the folder, but the top of the frame shows I'm logged in as the user that moved the files into the folder. If I try to click on one of the files I get a file not found. If I login at the folder level, my login seems to change when I veiw the list of files. If I click on My Site or My Links, I'm challenged for a login and it doesn't accept my credentials. I'm guessing there was some permission tag from the user logged into Windows that the Explorer view might have attached to the folder, but I don't see anything like this in my searches as a known bug. Anybody have any ideas? BTW, I have used this procedure before without a problem. It seems the thing we do most is reorganize and that requires moving things as the organizational charts are shuffled. Thanks for any help or ideas you can provide.     - AD Provider for multiple domains I have a scenario where we are moving from CMS 2007 to MOSS 2007. As part of this transition we have to ensure security can work the same way from one environment to the other. In CMS you could add multiple domains as authentication sources for your forms based authentication. It appears MOSS does not offer this flexibility and instead offers a somewhat weak solution of extending the application with an alternate URL in order to make this work as you can only have a single AD provider defined for any given web application.     - enforcing naming conventions Hi all, Our senior management is really sold on all the document classification stuff in MOSS - content types, lookups for metadata, versioning, etc. However, they've asked if it's possible to provide a technical solution to enforce naming conventions. At the moments there's a very clear business set of guidelines in place, but people generally ignore these. What we want is pretty simple to describe: When people upload a document to a particular library, they are prompted to select a content type. Based on this selection, different mandatory metadata fields are presented. When they complete these fields, and click save, the document name is created programatically by the system.     - Large File over 25 MB I have MOSS 2007 on Server 2008. I am trying to upload a 100 MB file. The max I have been able to send is 25 MB. When I try and send a file through the DAVWWWROOT it tells me it cant find the file. When I try and send the file through the upload function, I get a 404 error and the file doesnt show up. After the database moves it appears as though the Search server still thinks all databases are still on the original server.     - Unexpected Error after uploading workflow Help- I have created a custom workflow on a document library to start automatically when a document is uploaded. The workflow is based on selections made to the custom properties of the document. Unfortunately once a workflow instance is running you can no longer edit the document properties or upload any new documents to the library- you get an "unexpected error". The workflow does seem to work fine though. I found the article below but the solutions do not seem to work.     - MOSS not sending email alerts after database restore I recently restored my moss 2007 database from a sql 2000 sp4 database to a sql 2005 sp1 database. But the problem is my email alerts no longer work, I do not receive the initial alerts nor do i receive the alerts when items are added I did notice the alerts were in the immediate database table but nothing in the iis 6 smtp inetpub mail folder. I do not have exchange server I am using iis 6.0 on a windows 2003 server. I also tried the update alert templates from the command line using stsadm with no luck.     - populating audiences from a list of project members Hi guys, I've set up an audience in MOSS 2007 standard edition. It's filtering content based up the Department field in the MOSS User Profile. (This field is imported from AD.) What I'd like to do is have a sub-category called Projects. This would be a list of projects that each user is currently working on. This is easy enough to do in the Central Admin. However, I don't obviously want to have to give every project manager access to this. Ideally I'd like to have a sharepoint list of projects, with a field where PMs can add project members, and this somehow either: 1. Updates a My Projects Field in the User Profile. or 2.     - Will Sharepoint Work Here I am creating a website and I need functionality of pulling from a access database filtered data. I need to be able to select 6 different criteria (probably from drop down boxes) and produce tables exportable into excel or at least can be copied and pasted.     - CQWP and Person field type Hi, I have created a custom content type that contains a field of type Person or Group. I am trying to display this field in a content query web part. In the CommonViewFields property of the webpart, I tried specifying the field type as User (i.e. <property name="CommonViewFields type="string">ProjectManager,User;etc.). When I import this webpart onto my page, I get a "There was an error retrieving data to display in this Web Part." message. I don't get an error when I change the field type to Text, but then nothing shows up in the CQWP. I have been able to display all the other fields of my custom content type - only the Person cannot be displayed. After we change the Sharepoint home page default address to a new name, the All Sites Search which is at top of home page doesn't work any more. I tried different ways, but it still doesn't work.     - MOSS Search Question - can't search as a member of an AD group I created a SharePoint group to have "READ - CAN VIEW ONLY" permission on a top level site and a sub-site. I added AD security groups on this SharePoint group. If I log-in as a user that is a member of any AD security group recently added, I can only access the top level site and the sub-site as expected. BUT WHEN I STARTED SEARCHING, NO SEARCH RESULTS COME-UP. I logged-in as other users and do a search, I can see the results. To troubleshoot, I checked the permission for a specific document library on the top-level site and found the SharePoint group I created has the read permission. So when I go to central administration and look at the Alternate Access mappings that pertain to the Alternate Access Mappings Collection I am talking about I see 2 mappings listed: internal url zone public url for zone http://litwareportal:55092 Default http://litwareportal:55092 http://litwareportal:40033 Extranet http://litwareportal:40033 I created a site collection for this web application, so I can can open a browser and type in http://litwareportal:55092/sites/intranet/Pages/Default.aspx and see the "intranet" site collection. OK. As it shows above, I extended this into the Extranet zone, but so what does that mean? Can someone explain how I use this? I mean, I can't type in http://litwareportal:4033/sites/intranet/Pages/Default.aspx. I get page cannot be displayed. The purpose is to make the http://litwareportal:55092/sites/intranet/Pages/Default.aspx accessible to a "different" set of users using some other url, but what is that url?     - Domain going away Hi All, We currently have our active directory setup to pull in users from our ABC domain. So all of our users in the system have a username like ABC \jdoe. However, this domain is going away and will be replaced with EFG domain, e.g. EFG\jdoe. Does anyone know what kind of impacts this will have? Can anyone advise on the best way to approach this requirement:

We have a top level portal homepage. It has lots of links to
departmental content on lower levels, company news, etc.

Our communications team have asked if it's possible to create a
weekly
visual report which is basically a screenshot of this page, with the
number of times each link on the page has been clicked. (They'd like
percentages too.)

This is on MOSS 2007 standard.

Any suggestions?
