Current system Sharepoint Portal over Window Sharepoint
Services sites version 2003.
How can we retain visibility of the previous version of a
document for our "readers" while the upgraded document is
in the approval workflow in our WSS sites.
We have critical standards and specifications which can't
just appear to disappear for 95% of our system users.

One idea would be to have a copy of the document used in your approval
workflow business logic. When the document was then finally approved, it
could supercede the previous version.
