    - Search permissions Hi all, We are having issues with our sharepoint search that seem different from common issues. Almost all of our users can search the site perfectly fine. However there are two groups of recently added users who have pretty limited read access to a small section of our MOSS 2007 site. When they run a search nothing comes up, not even stuff that is in areas that they have read access to. However if i change user and switch to any of our other users they search page comes up with the correct results. Any ideas?     - Argh - importing spreadsheet problem We have encountered another compatibility problem between MOSS and Office2003. We spent several weeks tracking down the problem that prevented 'edit in datasheet' working (dll issue) and now are trying to import spreadsheets. Our Workstation SOE is Office2003SP2 + Project2007 We *Cannot* upgrade to Office2007 in the near future due to massive change management issues for 3000+ users. We are rolling out our intranet in MOSS. Looks good except when we try to 'import a spreadsheet' to create a new sharepoint list in MOSS. We get the error: "The list cannot be imported because a Windows Sharepoint Service- compatible spreadsheet application is not installed". Of course it is. Excel 2003SP2 is sitting quite happily on the workstation. What is the fix? How cn we convince MOSS that there is a spreadsheet it can use? Al.     - My Inbox I need to display a read-only inbox on a shared kiosk. Because of what the display looks like, I can't really use a web page web part linking to a public folder. So, I have a user called general to receive the mail. I gave 'default' reviewer rights to that mailbox. I set up a user called kiosk to log in to the kiosk computer. When I access the site logged in as a domain admin, the 'my inbox' displays a line with the navigation arroes, a line with the headers, and the e-mails in 'message' format, without the preview pane. That is what I want. When I vew the site logged in as 'kiosk', the web part 'my inbox' exactly like OWA, including the preview pane. How do I get it to display like the domain admins?     - Remove Workflow from Publishing Portal I was wondering if anyone here knows how to remove Approval workflow from the Publishing Portal root site in a site collection. I have tried going into the Page Settings and removing the Approval workflow there and all my documents are still requiring approval.     - MCMS 2002 Content Export problem We're having a problem with our daily content export/import job that moves our content changes from our pre-production to our production server. Changes to any pages, other than the homepage, causes a reasonably sized .sdo file that is created fairly quickly and imported quickly. However, if we make a change to the site homepage (root channel - default page) for some reason it causes a huge 600+ meg .sdo file to be created even if that was the only page changed!     - IE session cookie error while rendering a form Hello to all, This is somehow a rather weird behaviour that I can't explain. Maybe someone can help. As soon as I published an InfoPath 2007 form at the SharePoint 2007 Server SP1, Version 12.0.0.6219, and try to access it via the Internet Explorer 7 an error message appears. It's stating that I didn't turn on the session cookies in my Internet Explorer so the form can't be loaded. Nevertheless this turns out to be true because I activated to accept sessions cookies in Internet Explorer 7 at the general internet options. Same behaviour is also shown in the Internet Explorer 6. Surprisingly as soon as I open the rendered form within the Firefox browser everything works seamless. If so how does the average not technical user in a SharePoint document library locate this pointer so they and others can use it? On reason we would like this is because some of the URL's are long and the users snivel about dealing with them. Without this namespace and the corresponding behavior, IE has no idea how to render VML contained within an XML web part.     - Access linked tables/lists and Sharepoint - Where does join/filtering Hello, I am currently investigating to create an Access-based application that can be used by multiple users. Therefore I want to use Sharepoint Lists to store the data and Access clients that run an Access Application with tables linked to the lists in Sharepoint. No other solution like an SQL Server is available. Unfortunately retrieval of the data from Sharepoint is really slow. Some lists have up to 27,000 items or more. I found the Cache List Data option in Access 2007 which seems to help a bit but overall the performance is still very bad. My question would be where operations like join or filtering of queries are applied. If I filter such a linked table in Access does Sharepoint only send me the filtered results or are all rows downloaded and afterwards filtered in Access? If this would already be done on Sharepoint it should greatly improve the speed. However, this does not seem to be the case? Setting this option changes the filter dialogue from radio buttons to check boxes as expected.     - SSRT Integration rsItemNotFound Hi Everyone- I have a new installation of MOSS 2007 on a Server 2008 box. The database is on a separate, dedicated SQL 2005 box. There is a default instance of standalone SSRT and a SP-integrated instance. SSRT and ASP.NET are running with a domain account, which is also a local administrator on each box. MOSS 2007 is installed (website not hosted here installation) on the SQL server and joined to the farm. The SSRT add-in for MOSS has been installed. From Application Management in Central Admin, I can manage integration settings, grant database access and set server defaults without problem. From VS I can publish reports to MOSS and edit data connections, permissions, properties, etc. HOWEVER, when I click on a report to actually run it, I get "The item <path to report> cannot be found. (rsItemNotFound)." I've searched high and low and can't seem to come up with any explanation for this error. Even tried deleting and re-creating the SSRT database.     - Domain Name Versus Machine Name I have SharePoint installed on a machine called, say "chuck". I have an externally visible domain entry called, say "chuck.mycomany.org". I can get to my site from the Internet no problem. When I create a document library and add documents to it, retrieving the documents works fine (internally and externally). When I create a folder in a document library, it works fine internally - but only because the link that SharePoint creates is hard coded to http://chuck/restofpath and of course, I can see chuck from my internal network. When I hit the same thing from the Internet, of course it uses the same path of http://chuck/restofpath and naturally, it has no idea who chuck is and I get an error. The problem is, it is inconsistent, because like I said, when clicking on individual documents, the URL is more like http://chuck.mycomany.org/documentlibrary/mydoc.doc (externally) and http://chuck/documentlibrary (internally) and everything is fine. I have a similar problem when I am in a subsite, and I click on the root site in the breadcrumb list on the very, very top of the page. It works internally because it uses machine name. It doesn't work externally because it doesn't use fully qualified domain name. You would think that EVERYTHING that is created in SharePoint (WSS 3.0 on Win2k3) would be a relative path, and it wouldn't matter what's there for the machine or domain name. Even when I navigate to http://chuck.mycomany.org/portalstuff from my internal network, the URL changes to http://chuck/portalstuff Thoughts?     - WSS 3.0 to Moss 2007 upgrade Ok, I must be missing something, but maybe you all can help. We have an existing WSS 3.0 site setup on one server. We have acquired a new server, installed MOSS 2007 Enterprise on it with the databases on a second SQL 2005 server. So far so good. It is all working and I can see the MOSS menus for controlling navigation ect... Now, if I do a stsadm.exe backup and restore to the new MOSS server I get and exact duplicate of my existing WSS 3.0 site with none of the navigation and management features of the normal MOSS topsite. That makes sense I guess, as it would overwrite the existing default MOSS site. So then I tried stsadm.exe import and export, but unfortunately these commands don't seem to work with customized sites like the Helpdesk template/solution. So then I tried uninstalling MOSS, installing just WSS 3.0, restoring my backup to that install and upgrading in place to MOSS. Still not MOSS features in the menus. At this point I am stuck, confused, and frustrated. I really do not want to have to recreate the whole site from scratch, but that is where I guess I am.     - Remove Sharepoint Admin user permissions from survey... I have a requirement to prevent Sharepoint Admin from being able to see all responses to a survey. Bascially we are trying to run a simple Appraisal system via a survey list, my boss needs to have full control, everyone else, ( including me with access to the Sharepoint admin password ) need to only see their own results. As myself it works fine, but as Sharepoint Admin, even with all permissions to the list removed, I can see all responses. Does anyone have any ideas if a restriction can be applied?     - Problem while creating a new Sharepoint site Hi, I am currently working on Sharepoint 2003. Whenever i am trying to create a new site after giving the new site details and after filling the add link to site page details and when i click the "OK" button it is not redirecting to the next page (template pickup page). Previously i had no issues in creating a new site, can anyone please let me know what could be the problem? When i type the newly created site url in the browser it is redirecting me to the template pick page and from there i am able to create the site. Hi all

I want to develop Activity Room booking system by using calendar view.
Following is my requirement:

1. My colleages book activity room by assigning time slot, e.g. 9:00
am - 10:00 am

2. No other colleages marked activity room with same time slot i.e.
9:00 am - 10:00 am

Can MOSS 2007 build in calendar view do job ?
