Hello, I am using MOSS 2007. I've got a number of channels and for some
reason some of them show the "Publish" button when I create / edit a page and
other channels do not. It's not a problem while I am developing, but I don't
want my users to see that once it goes to production because I want them to
use the workflow. This Publish button allows them to completely bypass
approvals. How do I turn it off?

Marc,

If you are using MOSS 2007

Go to Site Settings --> Site Collection Administation ---> Site Collection
Features

Then turn-off the publishing feature de-activating 'Office SharePoint Server
Publishing Infrastructure' in the list of features

Please in future don't post identical questions both to a (Microsoft)
newsgroup and a (Microsoft) forum.

This is the reply one person wrote in the forum

"Site Settings -> Site Features then deactivate "Office SharePoint
Server Publishing" will disable publishing for the entire site. "

This is the reply written by a different person in the thread here

"If you are using MOSS 2007

Collection Features

Then turn-off the publishing feature de-activating 'Office SharePoint

One of them was wasting his time.

Mike Walsh,

I apologize for whatever happend in the newsgroup last week. I wanted to say
sorry.

One of my friend had shipped me a book 'Real World SharePoint 2007' from
USA to india. I know that you've co-authored that Book. I feel it's a great
Book sharing
the real work experiences from MVPs.
SharePoint Community in India is looking for such Books !

No problem and no need to post this in every thread !!

I hope you enjoy the book. I've just read and enjoyed Dustin Miller's
chapter 5.
