    - Central Administration account change Hi I have a single-box MOSS2007 "farm" which uses the Network Service account for the Central Administration app pool. I would like to change this to use an AD account. I have tried using stsadm -o updatefarmcredentials -identitytype configurableid -userlogin BLAH\blah -password ****** and run iisreset /noforce but I am then unable to reach the site. If I run stsadm -o updatefarmcredentials -identitytype NetworkService then iisreset /noforce I can get it to work again. I run these commands with an account that is a DomainAdmin Am I right in thinking that this command should be able to change the account used or is it simply for changing passwords on existing service accounts?     - Disabling the "Overwrite existing files" checkbox when saving a form All, I am running into a bit of trouble figuring out how to un-check the default "Overwrite Existing Files" check box in the Save window when saving a form with forms services on MOSS 2007.     - Installed SP 3.0 but can not view any sites - Please help! I am currently running Windows 2003 Server, SP2, running SQLExpress and all windows updates. Server is currently in a domain as a member server. All .net's are installed, sp will be running local and I made sure all the pre-requisits have been met. I think my biggest problem is not knowing what to do next. I pretty much went thru each option and configured mostly what I knew was needed. I have the database created, the application pool, created a host name for the server and a new port assignment. Still I can not get to the portal nor can I create a top-level site. The portal states that no virtul servers are available or the selected virtual server is already extended. What do that mean? The top-level site gets created and when I get to the part to create the template I get a 404 error - looks like it is trying to run templatepick.aspx. Can someone shed some light on this for me.     - Alerts not Working since inplace upgrade from MOSS 2007 -Hello all, If you are reading this, then thank you for your participation. My in place upgrade went well(for the most part). I had just upgraded SharePoint 3.0 with MOSS 2007. Shortly after the implementation, I noticed alerts were not being delivered to anyones inboxes. I immediatly created a new alert on an Announcement part. I did receive the email that a new alert was set up but when I went in and added an Announcement, I never received the email a new item was created. I've read the other posts on this subject and have not had luck connecting the other issues with my own. Thank you! This is happening to everyone who has alerts set up.     - Sharepoint and Domain Migration Hi Currently I am running an NT4 Domain with Sharepoint Portal 2003, with one front end web server and a clustered SQL back end. I am in the process of Migrating all my users onto a new AD (2003) Domain, this is a completely different name from the NT4.     - Group totals as new items in Sharepoint? (pivot tables) How can I create a new row of information that calculates totals based on items in the list? I know that I can see these totals in the list view when I turn on totals and group by the specified variable, but I want to actually create a new item with that information.     - restrict client access to single site We have a wss site off of portal that we would like to allow our clients to access. We don't want them to be able to go anywhere else though. We will get them there through a vpn and they would be displayed a link that when they click on would take them directly to the site. After they get to that site we do not want them to be able to get into any other parts of the intranet/portal. Is there a way to do this without affect our internal users who access it as well?     - Information/Site architecture question Hi. We've been really impressed with the site directory functionality in MOSS 2007. This seems to enable us to build a really rich metadata schema to categorise every site we create, and then create virtual views. We're looking at building portal level pages which group the sites based upon different virtual groups. For example, all sites grouped by geography, or all sites grouped by primary subject matter. And so on. So the sites will all exist in one portal, but maybe they're "physically" sub-sites. However, using the site directory and some custom pages, we hope to be able to build a really rich navigation layer of pages on the top-level portal. Any comments on this approach? Now they, or the admins, can no longer upload any more documents to it. We receive the following error: "Unable to copy ****/testdoc.doc.     - Importing / Exporting Custom XSLT Web Parts MOSS 2007 Hi I have been following various blog posts about customising web parts to enable a project RAG status column using coloured icons in MOSS 2007. However, when i add the web part to the default.aspx page it throws an error and refers me back to the web part maintenance page to disable the offending web part.     - Searching JPEG Keywords in 64bit Environment Does anyone have any experience in searching for JPEG keywords through Office SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) search in a 64bit environment? I was going to install the JPEG iFilter from Aiming Tech (http:// www.aimingtech.com/jpeg_ifilter/), but it's a 32bit app. I know that SharePoint searches through the standard metadata of JPEG files if you add it to the list of searchable file types, but it doesn't search through Keywords that have been added to the files (ie through Adobe LightRoom).     - Assembly Version Numbers - Bug in Designer? Hello, not sure if it's a problem with Sharepoint Designer or Sharepoint 2007 Server itself, but i have some strange behaviour here. I have an Assembly that contains a Workflow activity, for use in SPD. The Assembly itself works fine and i can use the custom Action successful - as long as the last 2 fields in the Assembly Version number are equal. So i have Version 1.0.0.0, added to web.config and wss.actions and everything works. Now comes the strange part: I have version 1.0.0.4, properly added to these files again, and when i try to use this action and save the workflow, SPD gives me an error message, that the Assembly - Version 1.0.4.0 - is not a safe assembly. Notice the version number - 1.0.4.0 instead of 1.0.0.4. I tried with other versions, and it always swaps the last 2 fields, i.e. 1.1.3.5 becomes 1.1.5.3. It does not swap the first two fields, 1.2.0.0 stays 1.2.0.0. There is no typo in the wss/config file, and the version number shows up correctly in GAC.     - SPS and email alerts Alerts work fine with internal users, so no problem. The problem is: We have users in the system with differing email domains. For instance: Users with accounts that log into our domain workstations will have first.last@ourdomain.com addresses. Users we add to our AD we wish to provide portal access only will have an account in AD that prevents them from logging into one of our workstations and only allows portal access. We do not provide these users a local an email account either as we assign their home address. These users will have a differing email addy, first.last@theirdomain.net. The problem is these outside email addys will not send through the portal to the recipient and reports an error. I see these errors also when creating access for these users and try to send a notice they have been provided access to a portal area using the "Send Notice..." feature when adding to a portal area.     - Authentication issue MOSS 2007 Enterprise. My infrastructure consists of a LAN, and 50 remote sites connected thru site-to-site VPN. Internal IP is 10.151.0.0 with a mask of 255.255.240.0, remotes start at 10.151.16.0, mask 255.255.255.248. Wan is working fine. Internal domain is abc.corp. External domain is xyz.com. I have an internal split DNS. the xyz.com zone has a A record for portal.xyz.corp pointing to 10.151.1.108 (MOSS server address). Everybody's home page is set to http://portal.xyz.com. It works fine from the LAN. Remote location get prompted with a windows logon. If I use http://sharepoint (internal server name) from a remote location, it works OK. Any ideas??? When I connect to SharePoint 2007 from client computer, I have error on page :"Object expected".     - MOSS v3 Multiple Domains & People Picker I have been able to CONNECT/IMPORT a second domain into the SSP but peoplepickers dont show this domain or users thereof, either in created sites or admin pages. I'm developing a system where I'm creating multiple SharePoint Lists. I initially created a DB model in Visio with all the entities and the associated attributes. Now I want to create these entities as SharePoint Lists. I'm having a hard time in figuring out what is the best approach in creating these lists.     - Moved SharePoint dbs to new SQL 2000 svr - homepage won't display - new Site page displays Hi, I just moved my SPS databases from one SQL 2000 server to another. The Sharepoint server didn't move. I followed the KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894164 for instructions and encountered no problems on the way. I worked with a DBA for the database part - again no issues were encountered. However... when I try to connect with the home page, I get a new Site page displaying. If I try to get into another page within the old SPS, I get a "Webpage cannot be found error". I can't get inside the Portal either - I get the same error page. On note: when I'm in the SPS Admin Central, under Manage Portal Sites - no sites are listed. I went through the restore pages, but get the error "No virtual servers are available or the selected virtual server is already extended." Yet I extended the SPS. I've searched for clues on the web and have reviewed the steps, but I can't find out how to resolve the issue. Does anyone have an idea of what went wrong? Any pointers would be welcome. L. i have a site set up with dual auth providers. The extranet site via
windows auth shows report, but the internet zone with anonymous access
enabled shows the following error:

"Web Part Error: One of the properties of the Web Part has an
incorrect format. Windows SharePoint Services cannot deserialize the
Web Part. Check the format of the properties and try again. "

I think that it may have something to do with protection settings but
cannot find any specific information for this particular issue. Can
anyone point me in a direction?
