    - Smigrate "created by" issue Hi, I've used Smigrate to deploy a solution built by a third party. This site has over 4000 documents. However, all site content now shows "created by" and " modified by" as the system account we used to run Smigrate. 1. Is it possible to restore and have the original fields preserved? or 2.     - Sharepoint Server 2007 - error on page I have a brand new SharePoint Server 2007 installation with SQL 2005 on the same server. When I connect to SharePoint 2007 from client computer, I have error on page :"Object expected".     - SharePoint / InfoPath latency After opening an InfoPath form from a SharePoint document library, the form exhibits a latency that is almost painful to endure. Just to type in a 'title' (one of the fields on the form) the form takes 10-30 seconds to catch up.     - MOSS v3 Multiple Domains & People Picker I have been able to CONNECT/IMPORT a second domain into the SSP but peoplepickers dont show this domain or users thereof, either in created sites or admin pages. Ive checked the IMPORT logs and all the 2ndDomain users are there and can be viewed within the SSP profiles etc. The 2ndDomain Users/Groups are just not available within people picker.     - XML Web Part support for XSLT Document() function I have produced an XSLT file that includes a second XML file into a variable via the Document(). ie <xsl:variable name="stockprice" select="document('Price.xml')" /> While the XSLT works works in Internext Explorer and other transformers, it fails in the XML Web Part in Sharepoint 2007. I have tried multiple ways to reference the file, so keen on any pointers as to whether this function is supported.     - Visio DB Model - Creating SharePoint Lists Hello, Apologies if this is not the correct group where I should post this message. I'm developing a system where I'm creating multiple SharePoint Lists. I initially created a DB model in Visio with all the entities and the associated attributes. Now I want to create these entities as SharePoint Lists. I'm having a hard time in figuring out what is the best approach in creating these lists. Can someone tell me if there's an easier and faster way to create the list based on the DB model ? Or do I have to manually create all lists in SharePoint, which is not just a frustating experience but time- consuming as well.     - Moved SharePoint dbs to new SQL 2000 svr - homepage won't display - new Site page displays Hi, I just moved my SPS databases from one SQL 2000 server to another. The Sharepoint server didn't move. I followed the KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894164 for instructions and encountered no problems on the way. I worked with a DBA for the database part - again no issues were encountered. However... when I try to connect with the home page, I get a new Site page displaying. If I try to get into another page within the old SPS, I get a "Webpage cannot be found error". I can't get inside the Portal either - I get the same error page. On note: when I'm in the SPS Admin Central, under Manage Portal Sites - no sites are listed. I went through the restore pages, but get the error "No virtual servers are available or the selected virtual server is already extended." Yet I extended the SPS. I've searched for clues on the web and have reviewed the steps, but I can't find out how to resolve the issue. Does anyone have an idea of what went wrong? Any pointers would be welcome. L.     - MOSS 22007 Cliff Notes?? I am wondering if there are any good docs or articles on configuring MOSS 2007. I see there are a lot of new features and I am trying to figure out how best to architect the solution. We would like to stay with a main portal area, collaboration sites and my sites.     - Deleted Groups I need to find out when a group in MOSS 2007 Enterprise was deleted. The main site usually has the default groups Visitor, Member, and Owner created on site creation. They are now gone. I re-created the groups manually, with different names, but don't know what kind of impact this will have on the site. I have a rough idea when this happened, I've found the logs for MOSS, I need to know how I can check when exactly these groups were removed and what command sharepoint logs to indicate a group removal. I've setup Sharepoint, and have used it for about 6 months. recently i downloaded a trial of project srerver and added that. I uninstalled it this week, and had some difficulties.     - Content Query Web Part - Filter by custom fields Hello, I have an InfoPath 2007 form which im using in conjunction with a forms library in sharepoint. I have added some custom fields to the library (taken from my InfoPath form). I would like to display the content of the library in a web part based on the status of the custom fields in my forms library. I thought I would be able to use the Content Query web part to do this, however when I try to configure the web part I do not see the option to filter based on my custom fields, I only see the list of standard fields?     - AD-MOSS integration: property type question I want to add DN as user property in MOSS profile, but when I select Person type I get error, as the field seems to want domain\username format. This works the same when I add user DN in Dotted-line Manager or Assistant properties - they expect domain\username. On the other hand, in default Manager field, which is Person type too, there is dropdown menu, which lets you to select between FQDN, domain \username or UPN.     - Excel Shared Workbooks, WSS3, MOSS2007, and Excel Services From reading this group and elsewhere, its clear that in previous versions of Sharepoint one could not use the "Shared Workbooks" functionality in Excel when opening workbooks from Sharepoint (I'm talking about the capability of enabling multiple simultaneous updates to a workbook, vs. the "last writer wins" and checkout/checkin model of Sharepoint). I'm wondering if that has changed in WSS3? MOSS2007? Does Excel Services do anything here? Or is the access model just too different? I have a group of geographically distributed users who need to develop a requirements document, each sub-group having its own tab. Ideally there should be one file that everyone opens and edits, versus having to merge multiple workbooks together. What are my options here with Sharepoint? Or should I just use the traditional shared network drive approach?     - STSADM export/import breaks document versions in document library (MOSS) Hi all, we have a problem with stsadm export/import in MOSS2007 We export a web with a document library that has some documents with versions. We use the following commands: %STSADM% -o export -url "%PORTAL%/sites/web1/web2" -filename "%DESTFOLDER%\bck" -includeusersecurity -versions 4 %STSADM% -o import -url "%PORTAL%/webX/webY" -filename "%SOURCEFOLDER% \bck.cmp" -includeusersecurity -updateversions 1 The problem is that the versions history for documents in document library is wrong after import. Example SIte web2 has a doc lib with a doc file1 with this versions: v2.0 By Author "A" date "dateX" v1.0 By Author "B" data "DateY" after export/import in the new site webY the versions history for file1 become: v2.0 By Author "A" date "DateX" v1.0 By Author "A" date "DateX" It's a stsadm bug?     - "Merge" two SSO database Hi all, we are finishng a migration project for a customer from SPS2003 to MOSS2007. In the SPS2003 farm there was two portal: portal 'A' uses the SSO db whereas the portal 'B' doesn't use SSO. The portal 'B' is the first that we had migrated to MOSS2007. The problem is that now the portal 'B' will starts use SSO, so we'll have a SSO db for the SPS2003 farm (portal 'A' will be migrated in the next three months) and a SSO db for the MOSS2007 farm. Since there is a single SSO db for farm when we'll migrate the portal 'A' we must "merge" the two SSO db..... it's possilbe? Any idea? Thanks in advance Claudio Tag: My site error Tag: 96267

    - SP 2.0 - Content approval wi user feedback? We're experimenting with a SP Calendar with Content Approval set to on. The goal is to allow people to schedule the use of a conference room. When somebody submits a reservation request, the screen just comes right back to the calendar. There's no message or indication that their request has been submitted. Once approved, there's no feedback to the user that the reservation has been approved. Uh, that's not real user friendly... Is there any way to configure things so that the user gets some kind of message when they submit their request and then have them automatically get a response (either accepted or rejected) once the request has been processed?     - Custom Workflow access denied I created a custom workflow in SharePoint Designer on my moss 2007 site. I saved the site as a template and included the contents. I then create new sub sites that use custom security groups. I then invite users to these sites. When a person in the owners group trys to start the workflow, they get an access denied error. Sometimes they see a link to request access. That sends me a link to a page I have no idea how to get to. The breadcrums say SharePoint Site > Workflows > Settings > Permissions. If I add them there they can use the workflow. Why is this? They are part of the owners and members groups. Since this is a custom workflow there is no "users must be a member of blah blah group." They don't necessarily have access to the parent site that each of these sites from the template are under. Tag: My site error Tag: 96242

    - How to find name of the site template with which the site is creat While creating a site, we are getting the list of site templates(like Team Site, Blank Site, meeting workspace, report center etc) with which the site can be created. Once the site is created and customizations are done in the site, I am unable to to find out the site template with which the site has been created. When I use the SPWeb,WebTemplate method in my web part, I am getting the values like STS, SPSNHome etc. Is there a way that we could find the name of the site template with which the site has been created.     - SPS 2003 Topology Issue Hi all; We've encountered something strange with our existing SPS 2003 implementation and was curious if anyone knows how to fix it; or if it's even worth it. We have a development and production environment that are configured identically in terms of topology. Each enviroment one server which acts as a Job and Index server only; and multiple servers acting as Web servers. However, in the production environment; we discovered that if you point your browser at the job server (eg. http://<ProdJobServerName>/sites/SomeSite/default.aspx) the content is rendered just as it would be on one of the web front-ends. However, in the dev environment, if you browse to the job server (eg. http://<DevJobServerName>/sites/SomeSite/default.aspx) we receive a generic ASP.NET error. So which way SHOULD it be? Hi all

I am busy setting up Portal 2003 and want to enable the "My site"
feature. If i log onto the site and click on "My Site" i get the following
error : There has been an error creating the personal site. Contact your
site administrator for more information.

I am the site admin and it happen even if i log on with the admin
account so it cannot be a permission error. Where do i fix this? Thanks
