Hi,
I'm a novice, working with Microsoft Sharepoint 2007.
I've created a list to monitor the tasks my group has. I've entered a
number of fields to be filled in the task list, such as
"description",
"date created", "responsiblity of" and so on. I also have a field
entitled "due date" which is the date by which the task must be
completed.
I would like to know if there's an option of sending an alert to the
people in the group (preferably to the person in charge of the task)
either the date before the due date or on the day itself. Is it
possible? If so, I would appreciate it if you could try to explain as
clearly as possible how I can do it, or direct me to an appropriate
tutorial on the subject.
Thanks!

I'm afraid you are also seem to be a novice at using the SP newsgroups.

You post any one message only to ONE newsgroup not to two (or more).

So here if your "Microsoft SharePoint 2007" meant MOSS 2007 you should
only have posted it here and if it meant WSS 3.0 then you would
logically post only to the WSS newsgroup .windowsservices.

I'm picking this thread to respond to. Like Mike says, you'll have
more success if you pick the right newsgroup and don't duplicate
posts.

I wrote about this top in sharepoint magazine here:
