Hi,
I've successfully installed iFilter etc, so my PDFs in Sharpoint 2003 Portal
can be searched using the basic search.
However, I cannot search using the columns in the advanced search.
(e.g., the doc lib has been set up to have various fields like Order Number,
or Customer Name etc)
I've added these fields to the advanced search, as described by Gary Bushey
(re-printed at the end of this post)
They appear fine, so I CAN do a search which says "Order Number - Contains -
00001001", but it doesn't return anything.
Word documents etc DO work fine.
How do I get PDF files to be included?

"Using advanced search you can search on the columns you want. You will
first need to tell SPS to use those columns in advanced search. To do this,
go to Site Settings and then Manage Properties from crawled documents. You
will need to find your columns (which should be under
"urn":schemas-microsoft-com:office:office) click on the item in question and
on the next page under "Search Options", select "Include this property in
Advanced Search options". You may also want to check "Display this property
in item details in your search results"; this will allow you to see this
field when you click on "Item Details" in the search results. You will
need to rebuild your content sources for these fields to show up."
