    - providing multiple outputs from a form web part to data view or list web parts. I am trying to create a filter from a form web part that has multiple fields to complete. When go is pressed, a list of all those entries that contain all the required data is shown in the data view web part. For example, I could have a list of details of all available cars in the data view web part and a car selection form as a form web part. You could then select, for example, a 'blue' 'peugeot' 'with air conditioning', with each entry selected from a drop down list. I can currently do this as long as i am filtering using only one criteria i.e. 'blue' or 'peugeot', but not both. I can create the form web part and add a web part connection to pass the output of the form to the data view web part's [input parameter]. I can then add a filter to the data view web part to display only those entries whose 'colour equals [input parameter]'. This works fine for a single criteria but not for multiple criteria. I cannot create multiple connections between these 2 web parts, so how can i pass the multiple values needed for extra filter categories? Current set up is Windows Sharepoint Portal Server 2003.     - Using Share Point Externally Hello, I am new to Share Point and i have installed it successfully internally on a brand new server. The machine has a internal IP address and hostname. The server works great when using it internally but one of the requirements we had was to be able to access it externally. I have put a hole thought our firewall which matches on of our sub domains and you can login externally. When you try and click on "Sites" externally the Microsoft "Page Cannot Be Displayed" shows up. Also i am unable to access documents. When i click to open them it also says page cannot be displayed. Please can anybody help me or has anyone had/has the same kind of problem.     - sharepoint 2007 and user controls hi, im a MCMS developer, and now we installed sharepoint 2007 to start testing it. So far i have managed to change the pages layout and look and feel, adding my own html code using the sharepoint designer. in sharepoint designer there is a section on the toolbox that refers to asp.net controls, like drop down lists and buttons and all that, how can i write the code behind actions for those controls? i havent found the way to open the pages in visual studio .net. Is it even possible? or is it possible to add a custom user control to the templates? does anybody know where i can find information about it? thank you very much!!     - Sharepoint Designer 2007 Backup and Restore hang I have been using SPS Designer to maintain our MOSS b2 sites. Tests of the Backup process go like this: 1) Start backup wizard; check backup subsites; select file location; Start the process; runs.....the temp file is created on the site root, stops growing; I click close and I can then copy the file to the desired destination manually. If I don't try to backup the subsites, the process completes. Restore process also runs and hangs... I check the site size (via properties) and after a few minutes it stops growing, but the process dialog never closes (hours pass...) I close manually, and the site MOSTLY works. What doesn't work: - Links to lists in the QuickLaunch area are broke (ie Lists link is broken http://gr-spps-03:8000/ABC/Audit2006/_layouts/viewlsts.aspx?BaseType=1) Please help...     - Issues with Workflow I am getting a strange occurance when I'm trying to setup a workflow using the MOSS UI. I go to the Document Center that comes default with the Portal and I go to the Document Library contained within. I then go to the site settings for that document library and choose WorkFlow Settings. I fill out the first page and hit next to the next step in the workflow. This is where it gets strange. The next page's content is blank and I get a javascript error: Object Expected. I refresh the page and all my CSS files seem to not be activating (in other words the site shows all the text, but almost none of the formatting). Any clue as to why this might be happening?     - How to get rid off authentication window for anonymous user Hi: I have a document library where I have set the rights so the anonymous users can view items. the problem is that when ever anonymous users click on a document the IE challneges the user for a user id and password box?     - stuck after adding a server to the farm I hope someone can point me in the direction of some good documentation which, I'm sure, is out there somewhere but has eluded my searches so far. Situation: 1 sharepoint 2003 server 1 SQL server All on an intranet setup. In order to provide extranet services I've installed a second sharepoint serverr and pointed it to the same configuration database. That seems to have gone just fine. In central administration I can assign roles to it. I've added the web server role to it. However, the 9 existing portal sites are still only available on the old server.     - Changing the look of the default webparts The past couple of days I've been researching on how to do this, but have found absolutly zero resources on the internet about going about this. What I'm trying to do is not only modify the CSS of the default webparts (such as announcements, documents, etc), but change the HTML as well. I created a document library, and in each versioning settings, i enable major and minors versioning and require check out. Then i uploaded a document and check in. However, later when i tried to checkout and edit the document, the right side panel of the MS Word that shows "check in" is diabled, and it says it is checkout by me.     - InfoPath forms "capsule" layout I'm just starting to play with InfoPath, I've designed a form template and populated an XML record. It appears in the "table" for that template. Cool. But I don't want to display it in a table-- I'd like to design my own read-only "capsules" which can be multi-line (after all, news portals display content nodes as capsules and not as line-items). This is basically what MS Access supplied a dozen years ago with "continuous forms." Is this standard in 2003, or is it just a matter of writing a custom web part? Will 2007 make this standard?     - Infopath 2007 with Database issue I have created an InfoPath 2007 form template where I have only labels, textboxes and datepickers.One of the textboxes is the username textbox that has the name of the logged in user as default value.My goal is to send this name to an SQL database and retrieve the relevant data for the user and fill in the textboxes. I have set a data connection for the database, and I can retrieve the data, but I can not send anything. So I opened the form with Visual Studio Tools for Applications and that resulted in a C# project for me. At this point I am stuck. I can see the data connection by code but I can not reach the fields and I do not know how to send and get back the data by code.     - MOSS 2007 Restricting AD accounts Hi I have an AD server with all my company's users account (say there are 100 accounts). We are setting up MOSS for Dept A and B use only. There are only 40 users. We setup the MOSS to use the company AD server. I create a groups (call MOSS) and have inlcude the 40 users in the group. I have setup the AD connection in MOSS to filter and only import users who are members of the MOSS group. That's well and good. But I notice when I go to a Site Admin to add a user, I can still add any AD users (even if they are not in the MOSS group). We intend to allow the user site administration to manage the site user accounts. Is there any way that I can restricted such that ONLY certain AD users can be added? (ie in the example above, I want to allow the Site Admin to only add AD users who are members of the MOSS groups and not other AD users) Any help would be much appreciate!     - Disable Automatic Search for Network Printers and Folders in Windows XP Hi All, I want to use Network places for SharePoint Navigation. The steps are as follows: Create network places for all WSS sites. So user can see the WSS sites under network places, while saving or opening a MS office document. This will certainly improve the usability and navigation. The issue with Network places is that It automatically create shortcut icon in network places, once you access any portal/wss site or network shared folder. I want to disable this functionality, so it only show my WSS sites as network place and I can update it through group policy every weekend for new WSS sites.     - Problem installing Office Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 on Server 2003 Hello, I'm having trouble installing SPS 2003 on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. It is a clean install of Server 2003 I am using. When I tried to install SPS 2003 I get an error message saying "SharePoint Portal Server requires ASP.NET. Please install ASP.NET.........." Which was fine originally because IIS and ASP.NET weren't installed by default with Server 2003. While I realize that there's a general rule of thumb against modifying the sharepoint database, how does this rule of thumb relate to creating views like these which simply run select statements against the database? My sense is that it should be alright, but I wanted to put this out there in case anyone else has any "gotchas" that might make creating these views ill-advised. While making some final tweaks we found that some redirect scripts would not run on the server. we have delayed this launch. However, it looks like "scripts souce access" was enabled at the root in the MMC for IIS on this site. now the default.aspx page may or may no laod, and none of teh Portal functions are working. Add/edit/delete gives uses an error on a .dll file in the _vit_bin folder. we are getting the following and cannot fix. This is in the event viewer app logs

Event Source: Microsoft SharePointPS Search Service
Event Category: SharePoint Portal Server plug-in
Event ID: 9510
Date: 8/2/2006
Time: 9:17:02 AM
User: N/A
Computer: MPWWW
Description:
The Plugin failed to connect to SQL, please make sure the service is up and running properly.

Any help would be appreciated.
